Drafting purely for need with pick #11 is stupid.

Roos is gone after this season. Oher can be a one-year deal. If Lewan is who the FO thinks he is, then you have one of the league's top OLs for years to come.

I dont know about the charges against this guy, cant speak for him as a person. Football wise, for the situation we were placed in, I got no problem at all with the pick. Barr was gone. Despite what people believe, it takes two to trade. Lewan is very impressive IMO, as a player. You had to go BPA with the situation dealt to us. There is a chance that Carr or Jimmy G is stiil there when we pick in round two. If not, maybe Murray falls to round 4, or we acquire a round 3 pick and snag him there. (I believe he will be the best pro to come from this QB class) . RBs are still there for the taking. Its a deep draft guys. Let it play out. My dissapointment isnt with the pick, its with Minnesota snagging Barr before us.

Yeah- I've warmed up to the pick. I was mad as hell about it last night mostly because it appeared we botched the trade with Cleveland.

I was hoping to get a "difference-maker" for this year with what the #11 or resulting trade picks would have brought. Going OL again this year was tough to swallow, especially since we are short a pick in this deeply talented draft class. We don't have much "standout" talent on D especially.

How many rbs have been drafted?? We can still get a good one. Don't worry about that.

As for qb, clearly wiz knows that jake is the man if he can stay healthy. We'll probably still get a guy late, but I'm guessing he's planning on giving Jake one last fair shot with a good playbook, good wrs, and a good oline for once.

Cant believe the amount of negativity. The team got a player who could be a ten year starter at a position that will need to be addressed next year more than likely. Webster/Whiz shouldn't take a QB based on public percetion. They take a guy, basically if that QB doesnt light it up, its their jobs, see; Munchak, Mike. They probably would have taken Barr or Ebron should they have not gone the two picks previous. The way the draft played out wasnt to our liking but thats the draft. Leaves us in position to grab the best defensive player on the board in the second I think depending on how it plays out.
Board could look something like this:
    1. Carr
    2. Nix
    3. Ealy
    4. Hyde
    5. Mason
    6. Demarcus Lawrence
Have to think one of those is going to be available.
People saying who is he going to be blocking for. QB argument above and taking a RB at 11 would have been a case for firing. Get your heads straight and be positive. Draft is one of the most positive times for NFL teams but many choose to be p****d.
Building block for the future and a step in giving this team a the tough identity the FO desire.

We took bpa at a position that we need. I know everyone wants to hold on to the past and think roos is still the same guy, but let's face it, we had the worst OTs in the nfl last season. Not only that, but this sews up the offensive line for many many years, and gives us even more cap space for next season..

Nice pick webster. Haters gon hate.

Once all the difference makers were gone I really wanted Teddy or Carr. I really thought we would take one of them and then instead we took Lewan. I'll get over it eventually but right now the wound is too fresh specially considering that I doubt Carr or Jimmy G will make it to us since they gotta make it past Houston and Oakland or someone trading up to get them.
