So over draft him based on previous years potential?

Because the market says you have to take guy early doesn't mean I can't say he's a mid to late first guy.

Yeah. I know Nix isn't a "Sexy" pick, but it could be damn effective having a big old mess in the middle for OL's to deal with. Carr, is at least a step in the right direction away from Locker. If they go with Gilbert or Dennard, at least both of those guys are better Man to Man cover guys than ATV and will fit the system better....

Last years potential was to prove a point. The NFL is in-love with these height, weight, speed guys that is why their stock is rising.

Verner played man well enough to basically shut down Megatron.

System fit maybe another story tho.

If we want nix, I'd like to see is try and trade back first.

We will. I was just plugging in the missing 3rd we had.

I agree with the trading back part no doubt. I actually like Verner and I hope he does well in TB. I do think that both Gilbert and Dennard will fit the system better and they are clearly a little faster on their feet, so I wouldn't hate either of those 2 as picks as well. I don't see them taking a CB in the first though. I truly don't.

Barr will be a much better player then Mingo. I just don't see the kid busting. I think he's too proud to fail. He's wants to be great and will put forth the effort to reach his potential. What doe everyone see in his game that makes him so raw? The only negatives I see is he's not as strong at the point of attack as I would like and his hand fighting needs to improve but neither of these is a deal breaker. I'm not comparing him to Ansah but Ansah was way more raw than Barr while Dion Jordan was touted as the polished can't miss guy and look how that turned out.

Imo a lot of these "raw" or "project" pass rushers will do good with the right coaching. Im fully confident in our new non fisher staff. They will be able to make a guy like this good. Barr would be an awesome pick. I also think that jordan would be better if used correctly though. like you said barr wants it and is a freak, would be a nice addition. We are a little stocked on backers though, don't think we'll end up with him.

The comparison comes when folks discredit Murray's metrics and injury. And he WAS highly regarded prior to his ACL. Bree's wasn't injured pre-draft. There is value to risk in the 4th for Murray.

Don`t think I`ve seen Stanford ILB Shayne Skov mentioned here. I really like this guy. Oversaid but shame we don`t have a 3rd.. he may be had in the 4th, but we still may need RB or QB in round 4.

Skov is perfect for an ILB in our 3-4. Highly physical, makes big plays in the backfield; he is excellent in stopping the run.

I personally like him better than Louisville ILB Preston Brown.
