    That's who I see trading with us...they have 2 2nd's and 2 3rd's, I think they take Carr not Johnny F though

So we just signed McCluster for $4M a year and RB is still our biggest need? Mccluster + a guy with 2 thousand yard seasons and RB is our biggest need? It is barely a need at all!

Hate to agree with diaper boy alex but i do think QB is a much greater need position and picking 11th and 42nd is a good place to get one. If the one we want is there at 11 take him or else wait until 42 to see who is left.

Don't agree regarding Jimmy G. Why are so many talking about this guy like he is a stud? He's a comparable prospect to Christian ponder in 2011.

    NFL DRAFT PICK VALUE CHART
    [IMG]

Good time and place to post this. We have some REALLY good options if we can find a partner to trade back, especially since we have filled nearly our needs via FA.

It would be most fortunate IMO if we could find a scenario to trade back in the first. We'd pick up enough pick value to allow us to either (trade up in the 2nd or get another in the late 1st) if we could find a partner.

It would be killer to have a combo like Anthony Barr/CJ Mosely/Lewan and Garropolo, etc. You can imagine the combinations.

I wouldn't mind not taking QB in the first 3 rounds provided we could land Murray in the 4th. I just believe he is going to be a draft day "riser" based on his college performance. I think a lot of teams are hoping he stays "under the radar".

Again, you can't value pick Qbs the way you do other positions. Murray is at best the 7th best QB in this draft which is a far less reliable pick than the 7th ranked player at any other position. I wouldn't trow a fit if we drafted him in rd 4 it's only a 4th rd pick, but his chance of success would be very small.

He is physically limited and not hyper athletic. Scott wright of draft countdown ranks Murray as the 10th best QB and the 177th best player in this draft. I would say that's about right.

As for Garoppolo? A mid rd small school prospect in the 2nd rd?

yes. And many people said Brees was small and wouldn't ever be good after his rotator cuff injury.

I found an interesting link (posted in other thread) that statistically correlates college performance with NFL success. Murray is ranked lower currently because of his ACL injury.

Zero chance there's 9 better QBs in this draft than Murray and I've hardly been a supporter of his. Every QB in this draft has questions. Most are BARELY 6'2. Murray is right at 6'1. So really the difference your talking about is literally pennies.

And Tom Brady isn't hyper athletic.

Everybody knows picking QBs is the hardest position to predict how they will translate at the next level.

If Murray had not torn his ACL I think he would be getting more discussion as one of the top QBs in this class.

I don't see a sure fire can't miss QB prospect. So I wait on picking a QB until the 2nd rnd and then look to see who is available...one of these guys will be available in the 2nd.

Bortles, Manziel, Bridgewater, Murray, Carr, McCarron, Mettenberger

If history says anything then one of these will most likely be available in the 4th rnd because only once in the past 15 yrs have 7 QBs been drafted before the 4th rnd.

I would be happy heading into the season with Locker and any of the 7 guys I listed.
