This is exactly why I don't want a CB so early. We need to find out what we have in BWW and Coty maybe even TC once and for all and the only way to do that is to give them legit playing time. What's the point of drafting guys and never truly seeing what they can do?

You can find corners all over the place in a draft. We can either take a guy like Jaylen Watkins later or wait till next year and take one in the first if our young guys flame out that badly. Dennard is also a better corner than Gilbert. Gilbert is the better athlete but Dennard is the better cover guy.

Dennard was also on a much better defense.

hahahahah oh no we have to use Fry judgement about who's the best corner instead of an organization of people who specifically study the corner back position and are based out of Oklahoma. The only reason Gilbert is rated higher is because of return ability and speed, but Dennard has better reaction skills and is more nfl ready.

    I HATE YOU Fry

CB makes plenty of sense especially with the way Horton is going to run this defense. The team will be satisfied with what they have done to the front seven for their first offseason. Now they are going to focus their attention on who can shut down Andy. To make the playoffs we need to sweep the Colts and we need a guy who can be the physical corner that Horton wants. To me that screams Justin Gilbert. The only other way I see our draft going in the first is finding the best tape and that would be Ebron. I wouldn't be against that either. There is a nice drop off if Delanie goes down and it would open our play book more which helps keep our D off the field.

Don't think we will take one in the 1st. If we trade down in the first and get some extra picks, we should be looking at Roby or Verrett in the 2nd.
If not exum or cockerall in the 4/5th area would be nice.

I thought sensabaugh did very well last year. I hated the pick when we drafted him but he is proving me wrong

When did I say one was better than the other? I didn't, at least not to you.

Just saying the "this guy won whatever award" is the dumbest argument in the world as to why he's better.

Rien Long won the Outland trophy when he was in college. Got drafted by the Titans in the FOURTH round, did nothing in the NFL.

These awards are not given out to guys who will be great nfl players. See: damn near every QB to win the Heisman Trophy.

What makes this draft difficult is the switch to the 3-4. We have players who have underachieved in recent years who could be very productive in the new scheme.

The way I see it, some of the positions on this roster that are widely considered weaknesses worth addressing early in the draft could end up being strengths. A guy like Sensabaugh could very realistically become a good starting CB. I also think it's possible that our current LB and DL rotations are sufficient. We just won't know until we see them in action under Horton. I think most of you guys would agree that drafting a CB in the first would be a bit of a waste if Sensabaugh turned out to be a solid starter for us. For those reason, I think defense should be less of a priority in this year's draft. Over the next year, we need to find out what we have with the current guys on the roster.

What I think we should do is focus on the positions we know we're deficient at. RB- We know for a fact that it's time to start looking towards the future at RB. TE- Although it looks like Delanie Walker will be a good tool to have at TE, he is not a big playmaker in the passing game. OT- Roos is getting old and his contract is expiring. Judging by the comments from Ravens fans and PFF, Oher could our next Amano or Stewart. And what do we have behind them? Stingily?....

    My proposal for the draft:

    1st Round- Ebron.
2nd Round- Hyde or trade back for Devonta Freeman.
4th Round (or third if we make the above trade)- Best OT available.

So what you are saying is, not get any full time starters in this draft? Got it.

Depends on your opinion of those players. I (and quite a few other people) think Ebron is one of the best TE prospects in years. He would immediately add another dimension to our offense. As an FSU fan who has watched Freeman closely over the past two years, I think he's seriously undervalued in this draft. He has the speed, agility, and vision to pair very well with a bigger back (be that Greene or someone else). I think it would be an incredible move to trade back to the bottom of the second round and pick up Freeman and a third rounder. I'm not very familiar with the OTs in this draft outside of the top names, but I'm sure it's possible to find good talent in the 3rd or 4th round (Richardson from Tennesseee is a possibility).
