It's fine to be rooting for Jake but if you're expecting him to be the long term solution at QB then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Massive disappointment.

So Philips played a season with the injury...

meanwhile... Locker JUST NOW took the boot off.

My daughter would play through injuries better than Locker.

Heard that about Drew Brees before he played for New Orleans. I heard he was done. I'm just saying, Locker can overcome this and he wouldn't be the first football player to overcome a string of injuries to put a career together. I do believe we should hedge our bets and look to other legitimate QB prospects as a contingency, but I do hope you are surprised rather than my disappointment.

Locker played pretty damn well before the injuries, by far worth giving him another shot to see if things can pull together for him. Would still like to grab a QB in the draft, but I am hoping Locker can play a bit more carefully.

I am sure it has been a stressful year for him, maybe it has given him some time to slow himself down a bit.

Ok, to guys saying that Phillips played through the same injury as Jake should re read that article. Its plainly stated that Phillips injury wasnt as severe as Jakes, didnt require surgery. Phillips even said he shoulda shut it down. I am a Supporter of Jake Locker, but that doesnt blind me to the injury concern. Cant make the club in the tub. I do think that people are now just looking for reasons to write Jake off. So now we see that Phillips played with the "same injury ". If two people sprain their ankle, I will bet one will be more severe than the other. One might play ball in two weeks, the other may take 5. Same injury, different level of severity. Same deal with Jake and Shaun Phillips, unless, of course, you are just looking for a reason to knock Jake.

Brees had success in San Diego before he got hurt and went to N.O. Even jettisoning Brees at the time was an iffy move.

Jake Locker on the other hand has had no success in the NFL. If anyone can counter this point, I would love to see.

That was his season before going down against the Jets and he wasn't the same after he came back. He was one of the most efficient QBs in the league at the time, didin't turn the ball over, and we had a 3-1 record. He didn't make many mistakes (none in the stat sheet), made plays with both his arm and legs, and came up big in crucial moments (hello San Diego).

He's not going to set the stat sheet on fire like Brees or Manning but if Locker would have played at this level for the entirety of the season we would've been a playoff team. Instead we fell apart.
