Don't think the injury contributed to the drops he had.

 

I really think that the injury did lead to the drops. Pre-injury, he would dig in and go get the ball. Post injury, he was tentative and had nervous feet. It was clear that he didn't trust his knee. ...and after he lost confidence and started pressing, he got to the point where he can't do anything right.

 

How much though was the injury and how much was not showing up to camp in shape?

His first year back from the injury, he take a bunch of tiny steps as he was bringing in the ball. He was afraid to get hit with his foot planted.

I thought your sentence was going to be "but just seems like he can't catch." The thing that I don't understand is Britt used to be able to catch the ball - had huge college numbers and showed ability to catch early on - but he got to the point that the ball would bounce off his hands like when you tried to push two magnets together the wrong way. Plus all the penalties. Maybe it was partly the injury, but it seemed like he became less skilled the longer he played. all imho.

 

He did struggle in the back end of 2012 also, lots of balls where bobbling around while he was moving. Youre right, the more he plays the worse he gets.

 

Yes- it's as if our coaching was taking skill away from him. I felt that happened in all positions.
