A lot of people complaining about this deal are either being short sighted about the rest of the offseason or can't get over the 4.5 mil guaranteed. So let's try and figure this out.

-Dex was a day 1 signing, basically a couple minutes into the start of FA. That means the Titans were pretty high on this guy, now we can argue the reasoning for this but it's not that hard to connect the dots and figure out he's going to play a role in the backfield this season. Considering Whiz had Woodhead last year and his first signing is someone to fill that same role? What about the rumors we were interested in Sproles? Whiz made it important to get another weapon for the offense and someone with a dynamic skill set like Dex.

-4.5 mil is a good chunk of change but we're going to see Dex in his biggest role on an offense in his career and in his limited time before signing here he has shown some flashes on both special teams and in the offense. We're not even into 24 hours of free agency yet, step off the ledge.

Also, we're not entering next season with just Greene, Dex, and fillers. We're taking a RB in the draft as well, how early? Now that's a discussion. If CJ was cut right now, I would be a lot happier with a trio of Greene (short yardage, power), McCluster (3rd down, pass catching, agile), and a rookie than paying 8 mil for CJ to barely get to 1,000 yards.

Somebody can have CJ...Dude doesn't run well inbetween the tackles, and anyone thinking he played and ran hard should dig deep and look at the difference between the 2 games he actually did, and the rest..and what the stats showed to prove it....I said it before...Surprising his best game was the last of the season???? hmmmmm......Buh bye CJ1k

So you're saying he didn't run hard against the colts on thursday night? Please. No rb was successful at running in between the tackles on our team last season and there's a reason behind it. CJ was our most effective short yardage back anyways.

You could have just said "I'm talking out of my ass"
Controversial thought? Is that an applicable term?

Yes..I am saying he ran hard 2 times....and his numbers reflected it as well as his attitude...I am not saying the line was stellar by any means, but that excuse is played out...He has been on the decline no matter how you slice it...His longest was 30 yards..Less than 4 ypc, and people in here want to act like he is ELITE and top tier. I just don't see it, especially when he REQUIRES a gapping hole to be good. That being said, I think McCluster mixed with someone else will be better for the team and jake locker...The team was too 1 dimensional, and i am excited for change.

A season before he had 3 rushing td's over 80 yards. But yeah man you're right getting rid of CJ and adding McCluster clearly makes us better.

A lot of you guys on here are in for a rude awakening if we lose CJ this season and don't bring in a capable first string RB.

using unquestioned and unparalleled logic here, but Locker is better than Rivers...he beat him earlier this year.

They will bring in a 1st string RB in some way shape or form...and when they do, they will be MUCH deeper and more talented at the position...The ONLY thing...and I mean ONLY thing i will miss of CJ, is his durability....
