There are still options if we want to replace Stewart but I think we might be sticking with him this one last year.

I hope we are looking at BJ Raji or Terrance "Fats" Cody (as a much much much cheaper alternative) as possible NTs.

If we want to spend money we should be going after Ware as OLB.

Should be looking at Brandon Spikes, Jon Beason, Jameel McClain, Daryl Smith at ILB and should sign the cheapest/shortest deal as a stop-gap solution only.

Also I think we could get a good corner cheap if we wait, maybe Carlos Rogers or Jabari Greer which makes losing Verner not sting as much.

All in all we are going to bargain shop which I didn't expect much else given our cap situation. Really 2015 would've been a better year for a new coach to start because of cap room but I'm definitely happy to have Whisenhunt and get the change going now, he just doesn't have as much room to make moves this free agency as he will next year, but he has this year to evaluate in house guys. (Yes I realize Whisenhunt isn't the one signing the free agents or with all of the say, still a coach wants his guys).

 

No. No. No. I would be PISSED if we keep Stewart. He's been awful for TWO years now, not just bad.. he's been awful. He gets worked by any pass-rusher, I will give him credit for being average against the run. Then guess what.... he's the HIGHEST PAID RT in the NFL. That's absurd, we can waive him and have zero dead money from his cut. That's an additional $6.4 million that we can spend on free agents. Not only do I want the money, I want the upgrade in play, the dude is done.

I'd love Ware, he's got some injury concerns just like LaMarr Woodley. That scares me.

I want Wesley Woodyard. Don't even mention Jon Beason, he's a bum now. He's a name, but has been awful for the last two year - was never the same post injury. I'll be surprised if he makes an NFL team. Woodyard would be my #1, wouldn't be upset if we also pickup a player like B'Spikes, McClain, or Smith for cheap [short] deals also.

I think we'll find a corner, but it'll be one from the clearance rack. In a week or so when the free agency buzz dies, there will still be decent corners available. That's when we sneak in and get one for cheap. Need somebody to fight with Blidi and Sensabaugh for PT.

Vick would be a good signing, but I'd rather we sign him over Fitz to be honest. The Browns could trade back with someone in love with Manziel if he's there at 4.
Schaub would make sense with Gordon and Cameron then take Sammy Watkins at 4.

Looks like Woodyard is visting NE today, hopefully he leaves w/ a contract because he's visiting TN on Thursday.

Missed out on the best LBs. Ware will be a Bronco. Let Verner go for less than $7 mil, I don't get it?

Wish we could at least hear about who we are talking to, and what are we waiting on with CJ?

 

We didn't even sign anyone til the next day last year, we're actually ahead of schedule if you want to be technical.

 

Woodyard is crap, we better not rush to sign that guy.
