Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey wasn’t selected to the Pro Bowl in the voting process, but there’s a chance he could still get a late invite.

    If offered, would he accept?

Casey was named a second alternate after a vote of coaches, players and fans. On Thursday, Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata pulled out of the contest, and was replaced by the first alternate, Cowboys defensive lineman Jason Hatcher.

Casey would be next in line if the 49ers win in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday and advance to the Super Bowl since 49ers defensive lineman Justin Smith wouldn’t be able to play in the Pro Bowl.

But Casey, who racked up an NFL-high 10.5 sacks, told 104.5’s Midday 180 on Dec. 31 that he would decline a Pro Bowl invite as an alternate.

Personally, I don’t think that would be a good idea. A Pro Bowl trip would give him even more exposure, and help his chances of making it in years to come. Plus, he’d get to pick the brains of some of the best players in the NFL, while relaxing on the beach in Hawaii.

    Stay tuned.

I personally would accept the invite. I can understand why Casey wouldn't though.

A post-voting invite to the pro bowl is even more of a joke than the Pro Bowl is, itself.

I would tell them to shove it up their #$$%s.

There is no pride in playing in the PB, being selected is the only thing that matters.

I am officially dropping my McCourty jersey and picking up the Casey jersey. This guy is the best 4-3 DT and he's an alternate? The voting process is bogus. If he chooses to pass on the Pro Bowl thats fine, he'll be there soon enough anyways.
