Because Caldwell was handed a consistent playoff/SB contending team that on average had won 12+ games almost every year and then when Peyton went down he barely won 2. He looked dazed and confused and it was clear that without Peyton he was completely lost. In my opinion, there is no reason a half way decent coach couldn't have at least pulled a 6-10 season out of that team without Peyton. I mean seriously, Brady went down and Belichick was able to win 11 games with Matt Castle!

I bet Munch could have at least won 5-6 games with that same team and we all know he sucks so what does that say about Caldwell, I almost feel bad for the Lions, I think this guy is a bum.

Man I feel bad for Detroit. Either way they are getting a terrible head coach if this is true.

How is it not true? It was announced 7 hours ago. It's real, and for them, it's real sad. We totally ganked the guy they literally thought they had locked up. Props to Webster. He saw, he targeted, he hit bulls eye.

Everyone's trying to figure out why Whisenhunt would pick the Titans over the Lions. It's got to be the weather, his wife, or the division we play in.:disbelief:

I saw a "Fire Caldwell" thread on a Lions forum. That was meant to be a joke I guess. Pretty funny.

He was born and raised in Georgia, He lived in Nashville while working for Vanderbilt, he said in the press conference that his kids love Nashville. Plus that extra 1 million dollars per year here that he wouldnt've got in Detroit goes a long way in affording a nice house around the area.

Let's be honest.. nobody wants to move to Detroit unless they are offered millions to do so. I know you can live outside the city, but still... Nashville is a better spot, regardless. Better weather, better city. He's got history here, 1 million dollars more per year, and closer to his childhood home.
