Wisenhunt to DET makes the most sense in my opinion.

Stafford doesn't want to work with a qb but Wis could do wonders for him. A lot of nice weapons on O.

I would imagine Zimmer wants Ten but I'm not sure the feeling is mutual and thus he goes to Vikings or maybe browns or dolphins

Greg freaking Roman! I hope the 49ers lose so we can key in on this guy! Whisenhunt is Detroit bound and I don't want either Seahawks coordinator. Zimmer is too rough around the edges (sadly). Roman has to be our guy.

Not a damn thing IMO. Will be pathetic to wait and see all the other options get jobs while waiting for these guys. If you want a defensive minded coach, go with the guy that is proven over 20 years. Not the guy that took over a great defense FOR 1YEAR, and kept it great. Quinn is a poor mans Zimmer.

I don't hate Dan Quinn as a candidate but he is definitely not my first choice. If he had been the DC in Seattle for 2-3 more years then I would be more excited by him but he inherited a good unit in Seattle and Florida. I would like to see him build his own defense before I can get behind the guy.

If Quinn is the guy (and just because it is being reported doesn't mean anything; remember according to sources Munchek is still or HC and Rod Marinelli is going to be Tampa DC) I think it would be important to surround him with an OC and DC with legitimate NFL experience. I think DC has an easy choice with Gregg Williams being available. Quinn and Williams run a similar style defense that is very aggressive and relies heavily on man coverage.

Offensive coordinator is a little more tricky because we do not know what style of offense Quinn would want to run. I think Gary Kubiak becomes a great candidate to pair with Quinn because it give you a guy that has had experience building his own offense and crafting an offensive gameplan. The fact that Kubiak was also a head coach is another plus because it would help to mitigate some of Quinn's inexperience.

After that I would also look at getting a retired NFL head coach to come in and consult with Quinn for his first few seasons as an assistant head coach. Marty Schottenheimer would be a good choice (he has coached as recently as 2011 so maybe retired isn't the right word) and would be another proven, successful NFL coaching veteran for Quinn to lean on for a year or two.

I decided to do a comparison of our personnel to that of the Seahawks. Now, the Seahawks defense has a stand up SLB called the LEO which is Bruce Irvin for them. Just clarifying in case that wasn't known.

    Seahawks Defense:
    SDE - Red Bryant (79) 6'4 323
    DT - Brandon Mebane (92) 6'1 311
    DT - Tony McDaniel (99) 6'7 305
    WDE - Chris Clemons (91) 6'3 254
    SLB/LEO - Bruce Irvin (51) 6'3 248
    MLB - Bobby Wagner (54) 6'0 241
    WLB - Malcolm Smith (53) 6'0 226
    FS - Earl Thomas (29) 5'10 202
    SS - Kam Chancellor (31) 6'3 232

    Titans Defense:
    SDE - Sammie Lee Hill (94) 6'4 328
    DT - Jurrell Casey (99) 6'1 305
    DT - Tony McDaniel (??) 6'7 305 -- FA Pickup??
    WDE - Derek Morgan (91) 6'3 271
    SLB/LEO - Akeem Ayers (56) 6'3 253/Kamerion Wimbley (95) 6'4 258
    MLB - Donald Butler (??) 6'1 241 -- FA Pickup??
    WLB - Zach Brown (55) 6'2 248
    FS - Michael Griffin (33) 6'0 215
    SS - Bernard Pollard (31) 6'1 226

First off, if we get Dan Quinn then I have us signing Tony McDaniels (or resigning Ropati) in free agency along with inside linebacker, Donald Butler. Quinn prefers speed at linebacker and we have that in Brown and Ayers, but severely lack speed at MLB. Butler runs a solid 4.6 and benched 35 reps at the combine back a few years ago. In my opinion, he would fit perfectly into Quinn's 4-3 (much better than he did in the Chargers' 3-4 at the SILB position after they slid Te'o to the WILB which Butler fit more naturally). Quinn isn't my top choice honestly, but I just thought I'd check to see how our defense stacked up against theirs and how naturally we could make if work if Quinn came. I think as far as attributes of the players listed, we would stack up very similar in a lot of ways. Another free agent signing I could see us doing is letting Verner walk and signing a MUCH cheaper Brandon Browner to a future contract. I know he will be suspended most of next year, but that's why he could be gotten cheap and would be a solid vet for a playoff run if we could make one. Just a thought. Sorry for the length.

It would be nice if he could bring Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril with him... if he does come here.

I believe Bennett is set to be a FA once again... Avril only has another year on his contract.

I campaigned for both of them last year... Seahawks signed them for nothing.

Avril would be a solid signing if he were to get cut.

So basically it looks like Greg Roman won't be the guy, Zimmer may go off to Minnesota and Quinn seems to be the favorite over Bevell so after reading up on Dan Quinn and just thinking about him going to the Titans and seeing what you guys have said here are some quick points.

    - We're overblowing the coordinator history. You don't have to have a ton of experience or even be a great coordinator to be a good head coach. Does it ease our concerns a bit? Absolutely but looking at Quinn's career you'll notice an easy transition wherever he goes with immediate results. He's been successful at every stop and has produced either double digit sack players and/or pro bowlers at every stop, that is very impressive. Would be eager to see him with Morgan/Casey and maybe he can salvage Wimbley.

    - At UF, he had arguably the best defense in the nation. If the other side of the ball would've helped out his unit a bit more he may have a ring. What happened to their defense when he left? Regressed, they lost to Georgia Southern and they didn't even get a single passing yard I mean come on. At Seattle he did inherit a quality team but they played better this year and ranked even higher than Bradley's squad. Also, can you fault Quinn for taking a job like that? I took a gander at a Seattle board and they rather have us hire Bevell than Quinn, so you know they value Quinn despite it being Carroll's system or how they can just find another DC to be fine with their talent. Quinn's a good coach.

    - Again, experience will be the main knock on him but it would actually be an issue if he struggled coaching throughout his career or was inconsistent. Considering he's received high marks every where he's been, I can see why Webster is confident he can do well as a HC. Oh and since many like to compare him to Gus Bradley take a look at both of their resumes. Quinn's is probably even better than Bradley's before heading to Jacksonville. Only difference is Bradley stayed in Seattle an extra two years.

There's only a couple guys being mentioned that I wouldn't be too happy with but considering Munchak is gone I'm not going to be upset with the hiring of Quinn. He's a good, young coach who will probably be at the top of many's list next off season. I still have my doubts but it has nothing to do with his coaching ability, like most, the concern is can he go from being a successful coach to a successful Head Coach.

Also, if we do hire a defensive oriented guy then chances of Gregg Williams staying is basically at 0%.
