Gruden saw Dalton was struggling. Why send in any play which gives him the option to make another bad read/pass? I rarely see the Bengals during the regular season but have each of the past three seasons in the playoffs. Gruden has no shown me anything that would want me to have him the next head coach for the Titans.

People are making such a big deal about this.

Kaepernick was a project, and Dalton was NFL ready for a west coast offense of Gruden's style. Gruden wasn't trying to get some development project to sit, they needed a guy to start immediately.

Additionally, Kap is too reliant on his legs to succeed. Kap is an elite talent and will be a great QB, but for how long? My money is that 10 years from now Kap will be out of the NFL and Dalton will be as steady as ever. Kap surprised everybody. I think it's just pompous for the Bengals owner to come out and say he liked Kap better. Classy.

Gruden is a very good coach in my opinion, and I think he's better suited to run a team than Zimmer. That said, Zimmer is going to be a results guy who is a great defensive oriented guy. But what about the offense? He ain't got diddly squat for you to develop a QB. He will need a very good offensive staff, and I wonder where that's going to come from.

This is why I have Whis above Zimmer on my list. We already have Williams on staff and there are other good DC options like Phillips out there. If Zimmer can bring in Norv Turner then I would put him #1.

I still not sure if titans higher ups go with Zimmer and his brashness. I think he be a very good fit. Webster high on Quinn too.
