    Todays Tennessean (1-5-2014), has a list of potential head coaches. Some of the people on the list have been head coaches before;
Jim Caldwell, had a 26-22 record with the Colts
Ken Whisenhunt, had a 45-51 record with the Cardinals
Gregg Williams, had a 17-31 record with the Bills
Jim Mora, has a record of 31-33 as an NFL head coach
College head coach, James Franklin, has a better win/loss record than all of them. I realize there's a huge difference between college and the pros but, I'm not impressed. I am in no way saying that Franklin would make a good pro head coach, personally, I don't think he will ..... yet!
    Now let's move on to the potentials who have ties with Webster;
    Dan Quinn
    Jay Gruden
    Gregg Williams
    Jim Mora
Dan Quinn and Jay Gruden sound interesting but, I'm wondering about Websters judgement of these guys. Gregg Williams and Mora?????
Where does Rich Bisaccia fall in to all of this? A special teams coach?
I like Gruden, Quinn and Bevell.

Bisaccia would be a great hire on two conditions:

1.He is as good at player development as he is hyped to be.

    2. He can convince Norv Turner to be OC.

Even if he can do both of those, I would prefer Gruden. What he is doing in Cincinati is completely underrated.

Also, a great DC is going to be easier for us to get than a great OC, so it would be smart to hire an offensive minded coach.

Looks like we have a clubhouse leader, folks.

For #Titans opening, when they reached out informally earlier in the week to possible candidates, Darrell Bevell was 1. He’ll have interest

I really have a feeling it's going to end up being one of these three:
    Rich Bisaccia
    Dan Quinn
    Greg Roman

I seriously hope it's not Quinn. But I'd be fine with either of the other two. Still want Ray Horton the most but I just don't see it happening.

I could buy into that. Would rather have Jay Gruden, but he has done a good job with that offense. Has certainly let Russell Wilson flourish.

    Dan Quinn

    • Current position: Seahawks defensive coordinator
    Age: 43
Why he might be of interest: He picked up where former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley left off with the Seahawks, who were ranked first overall in defense this season. He had defensive line experience with three other teams before going to Seattle in 2009. Titans GM Ruston Webster was the Seahawks’ vice president of personnel that year, so the two have ties.

    Rich Bisaccia

Current position: Cowboys special teams coordinator
    Age: 53
Why he might be of interest: He has never been an offensive or defensive coordinator but has earned praise from many over the years as an excellent leader and teacher. One of his previous titles was assistant head coach/special teams with the Chargers, and he reportedly interviewed for the Redskins’ head-coaching job on Friday.

    Jay Gruden

    Current position: Bengals offensive coordinator
    Age: 46
Why he might be of interest: Gruden, younger brother of ESPN analyst and Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden, has guided quarterback Andy Dalton to bigger and better numbers in each of his three seasons in Cincinnati. He also has a background with Titans GM Ruston Webster — Gruden was an offensive assistant with the Buccaneers for four years while Webster worked for the club.

    Darrell Bevell

    Current position: Seahawks offensive coordinator
    Age: 43
Why he might be of interest: He has helped shape Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson into one of the game’s best young players (Wilson’s passer rating has been over 100 in each of his years under Bevell). Bevell has two years of experience as a coordinator for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, and three years of experience as an offensive coordinator under Brad Childress with the Vikings.

    Todd Bowles

    Current position: Cardinals defensive coordinator
    Age: 50
Why he might be of interest: He has a good track record as a defensive-minded coach. He was assistant head coach/secondary coach for four years with the Dolphins, even taking over as interim head coach for three games and compiling a 2-1 record. His Cardinals’ defense finished sixth overall this season, first against the run. He has coached under the likes of Mike Holmgren, Bill Parcells, Wade Phillips and Andy Reid.

    Jim Caldwell

    Current position: Ravens offensive coordinator
    Age: 58
Why he might be of interest: A coach with an extensive offensive background, Caldwell stepped into a difficult situation late last season and helped guidethe Ravens to a Super Bowl victory. He led the Colts to the Super Bowl in 2009 and posted a 26-22 overall record in three years as their head coach.

    Ken Whisenhunt

    Current position: Chargers offensive coordinator
    Age: 51
Why he might be of interest: He has experience as a head coach, having guided the Cardinals for six seasons. He led them to the Super Bowl in 2008 and posted a 45-51 record overall. He helped Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers recapture his form this season.

    Greg Roman

    Current position: 49ers offensive coordinator
    Age: 41
Why he might be of interest: He has experience with a young quarterback (Colin Kaepernick), so he could be an ideal tutor for Jake Locker. Roman also has developed a powerful running offense, which is what the Titans have personnel for. He was in the Super Bowl last year.

    Gregg Williams

    Current position: Titans senior assistant/defense
    Age: 55
Why he might be of interest: Certainly none of the realistic potential candidates would know the Titans personnel as well as Williams, who helped their defense improve from 27th overall in 2012 to 14th in 2013. His aggressive defensive style appeals to fans, and he has three years’ experience as a head coach, though his record was 17-31 with the Bills.
    Mike Zimmer

    Current position: Bengals defensive coordinator
    Age: 57
Why he might be of interest: He’s led Cincinnati’s defense to three straight top-10 finishes, including a No. 3 overall ranking this season. He has 11 years of experience as a defensive coordinator and has worked under Bill Parcells and Marvin Lewis, among others. Last year he interviewed for the Browns’ head-coaching job.

    James Franklin

    Current position: Vanderbilt head coach
    Age: 41
Why he might be of interest: He has one year of NFL experience, and that came as the wide receivers coach with the Packers in 2005. But he has an extensive background as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the college level. Most importantly, he’s been a miracle worker at Vanderbilt, guiding the Commodores to a 24-15 record and three bowl games in as many years.

    Jim Mora

    Current position: UCLA head coach
    Age: 52
Why he might be of interest: He has ties to Webster, as he was with the Seahawks for three years — two as an assistant, one as head coach — while Webster was their vice president of player personnel. Overall, Mora is 31-33 in four years as an NFL coach. But he’s enhanced his reputation with good work at UCLA the past two yearsl

Does that tweet mean Bevell was "#1" or Bevell was "one of the candidates"??? I read it as the latter.

Hmmm. You could be right. I interpreted it as #1, but now I am second-guessing it.

The problem I have with the HC job opening is that I don't want to bring in a very good OC (Roman) or DC (Quinn) to be a head coach when they would be best served to be what they are best at now...OC or DC. Say Roman got the HC job, and the OC job is open, I would want Roman to be the HC/OC and make the play calls. I want our new HC to just be a well rounded leader of men and student of the game that lets the OC and DC do their jobs because they are better than him in those jobs. If you brought in Roman as the HC, whoever they bring in as the new OC will have problems with Roman because he is a seasoned OC. There is just too much room for conflict.

Much rather have Roman than Bevell. Never been a big fan of Bevell's offense.
