I respect that, and some points valid. If we are playing the injury bug though, Foster/Tate/Johnson were hurt much of the year for them along with Schaub having issues. The difference is, the Texans have been competitive 2 of the last 3 years. Maybe the team didn't lack effort, but CJ sure as hell did. Fitz had been a starting QB, not some chump off the streets. 2 in overtime yes, but should it have even come to that? I stated before, they had 1 clean win ALL SEASON. The team improved 1 game from last year, literally..So I guess 1 game is worth 100 million. As for young players, it is not uncommon to start earlier these days. All I am saying, is that this team is good enough to win clean games and they have a talented roster which isn't being utilized correctly. I also worry because very few young players are developing under the Munchak regime, and I think many on this forum would agree to that.

I agree, but the Defense had a slow downward spiral as well.

    ^ My responses in bold.

This is what remains my problem with the "Case for Munch" posts I've been seeing... there's VERY little positives that anyone can actually attribute TO Munch. No one can say what he uniquely brings to the table that most any other coach couldn't/wouldn't. The only one I've heard so far is "The players like him and play hard for him". Other than that it's always just a laundry list of excuses involving "bad luck". So the fact that the guy is unlucky is why we should keep him around to lead this team for the foreseeable future??? LOL

I agree that losing your starting QB is not fun times, but like I said, it wasn't like this team lost their version of a Manning or Rodgers etc...The dude played 7 games with an average of 179 yards a game, 8 td's total, 4 picks, and a 60% completion percentage. It wasn't like he was "Tearing" up the league and mowing teams down. This team has FAR more issues such as inconsistency, line issues, running game issues, playcalling...etc....3 seasons of failure and people shouldn't have the right to wonder about or want Munch out?

Bruce Matthews was a rather unorthodox lineman. What worked for him would not work for most. Which leads me to believe that he may not be well suited to coaching on the OL.

It isn't a roll of the dice but as we know the NFL is an any given Sunday league and sometimes just getting in is the hardest part. Every year we see a low seed beat a high seed or a team beating someone we all think they have no business beating. While I guess that isn't technically "luck" it certainly creates the illusion of luck.

That's why the goal is to just get in. It isn't just so you can say "well we made the playoffs" it's because if you get in ANYTHING can happen. Just ask the 2007 Giants who didn't even win their division that year with a 10-6 record only to beat the 18-0 patriots in the SB and the 2010 Seahawks who limped into the playoffs with a 7-9 record and proceeded to embarrass the heavy favorite Saints. It's not about complacency it's about putting yourself in the best position to win. Just get in baby.

Exactly...So basically they are saying if KC didn't have Alex Smith, they would be 3-13 again....They basically had the same team, with a few additions and completely turned it around with a decent QB...But I guess that has NOTHING to do with coaching...

I always came back to this... What makes you think that the titans with Locker healthy for 16 games would not win 2 more games in the season?

We would be 9-7 and in the playoffs and nobody would talk about Munch.

I'm talking about just 2 games... especially when you have games we lost like these:

    JAC 29 @ TEN 27
    IND 30 @ TEN 27
    ARI 37 @ TEN34
