Understanding football like I do, I know that the CJ we see play every Sunday right now is not that different from the one who tore the league apart and had people reevaluating their opinion that Peterson was the best RB hands down 4-5 years ago. What changed? Well, let's be honest, as soon as Mawae retired the Titans began to lose the ability to get CJ the room he needs as a smallish type RB. It got worse over the next few years and the Titans have failed to fix the problems. Not that they haven't tried as they finally did try last offseason. You add to that the lack of a real threat in the passing game, and the defenses focusing on stopping our running game and daring us to throw and what do you get? Exactly what we've seen. CJ is still extrememly explosive in the right situations. We've all seen that when he gets the ball in open space on passes that have come his way this year. Is he worth 8 million?? Depends. He sure as hell isn't if you're going to use him like the Titans do! However, I could see him going to a team with a great passing game and competent offensive coaches and lighting sh*t up once again. That, will be when those of us that have blamed the team and not CJ for the running game woes will be vindicated. If the Titans had kept their running game working at a similar level as it did CJ's first 2 years in the league nobody would be asking for him to be cut. In fact, we'd all be praising him as the greatest player this franchise has ever had. CJ didn't fight any harder for yards in 2009 than he does now. He didn't have to nearly as much as he does now. In the right place, CJ can erase all doubts quickly and in devastating fashion to the defenses around the league. If the Titans cut him, I think many of you will be surprised how much money he'll get. It is no secret around the league that we don't use CJ the way we should. I imagine there's a few owners out there smiling saying, "you go ahead and cut him Titans!"

I say we cut loggains. Why do we run a power run offense with the fastest guy in the league? He's 190-200 lbs. I just don't understand our coordinator and his idea of what CJ is capable of

CJ's talent is virtually useless with Loggains. I miss Mike Heimerdinger! RIP Dinger.

The receiving yards don't help him. Most RBs these days are also expected to be a receiving threat. If you really want to know, look it up. It isn't as easy to get yards from scrimmage stats as it is rushing stats.

Didn't say just receiving "yards"... And all RBs should be expected to be a receiving threat, thats why I said compare his stats to the other 28. I want to see him back regardless (wouldn't be upset if he isn't) so I'm not going to go over his stats.

First off, Happy New Years guys! I wish you all the best in 2014. That being said, CJ has to go....I have NO doubts that he will be able to shine elsewhere, however, he won't rebound or look good on this team until the line is fixed and they use him differently, which won't happen anytime soon. So basically they would be spending 8 million on a name with average production. No thank you. Not to mention, CJ is checked out (he runs hard when he feels like it..2 times this year, ironically, one of them was week17 when he wants people to see his finish and play for a contract/trade etc). His attitude sucks and he is getting older as well. It is time for a new era, time to say goodbye to circa 2008.

My 5 year old shakes more tackles than him these days....someone says "boo" and he falls over...RB's can be taken mid draft rounds and be studs at a fraction of the cost..I have some good memories of CJ and he can be fun to watch, but I think he wants out and it shows....

The point is he does not stand out among those top 28 in any category including receiving.

You'll have to excuse him. He plays on the Titans.
