I have seen that line thrown around a lot, how so? There's certain laws that oversee both. What's so much different about sports than "real jobs?"

Being traded to another team is about the only difference I can see, but that happens when a company takes over another one and relocates some of the workers to another location. I was offered a position in Texas, but I had a no trade clause (wife was prego with my kid) which I used to stay where I was. I was not under contract I left when I found something else.

Anyone at their job can be "cut" anyone can leave as a "free agent" whenever they want. When I worked in TV, anchors are under contract. They left once it was up and found a new company or signed a new contract and moved up to a new higher market based on performance.

So I'm open to debate what's so different about sports jobs other than lots of people buy their jerseys and pay to watch them instead of me.

in what other line of work do people willingly take pay cuts to stay where they are, im not saying turning down more money to go elsewhere, im saying renegotiating to stay where you are.

Happens in the business I'm in. Sh** hits the fan. People get laid off and the ones that have a chance to stay can either take a pay cut or go else where.

This is business 101. You must stay competitive to keep your job and pay scale. Failure to do so will see either less pay or jobless.

Cj, plain and simple, has not lived up to his current salary OR is worth 8 mil a year

How can you say that? All he cares about is himself and his money. What makes you think otherwise?

Government jobs like IRS, DMV (Furlough days)... No negotiations about it.

I've also known older folks who are at the end of their career take less money to stay at their job instead of being forced into retirement then stay home. I've also known people to step down from a higher position in school districts and state jobs after they've been paid a higher wage since their pension is based on the most they've earned, not the most recent. Happens a lot in fire departments, police departments, etc.

The only real difference between pro sports and "real jobs" is that in the pros the entire country is constantly evaluating your on the job and even off the job performance. Every mistake you make is recorded forever and people get to dissect it on tv the next day.The majority of these "evaluators" are also fickle, completely illogical, and in many cases just down right stupid. By the way did I mention that the people can collectively complain about your pay /performance and even try to get you fired? Money being equal who the hell would choose a situation like this over their current job?

If he shut down down here just because he doesn't like the staff then that alone is a good reason to hate on him. If he isn't professional enough to give it his all for $50million and his pride then that's all the more reason to send him packing!

All in all I think what we've been seeing is CJ giving it his all. I just think he doesn't have it anymore, no break away speed, no vision, no tackle breaking ability what so ever. Without a big hole he's worthless. Even when he does get into the secondary he's not shaking the defenders like he used to, any contact at all and he goes down.

I remember the old CJ making plays out of what appeared to be nothing and torching the defense for big yards. Now you'll see a play where you actually think he has a shot to break a big run only to be caught by a defender for a minimal gain... or worse yet a loss. Then your thinking, the old CJ would have hit that one for an easy 20-30 yard gain. Bottom line he's not a playmaker anymore....case closed. Time to move on, it was nice while it lasted.

How often was an anchor doing really well, halfway in to his contract, then refused to show up to work for a while until the contract was torn up, and given a huge new one?

    Bet that crap never happened.

Bet if it did, and the guy promptly started sucking, his ass would leave a skid mark when it bounced out the door.

That is the situation here. You wanna hold out for obscene money cause your such a baller? Be prepared to reap the scorn when you no longer ball.

I have no such thing, but if I did it would have more value than a 28 jersey. I wouldn't even wipe my ass with a Johnson jersey, my ass cheeks deserve better than that.
