Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt dropped off the NFL radar in 2013, but he promised to resurface.

“I am going to be a No. 1 receiver somewhere else if I am not here next year, and that is guaranteed,” Britt said Thursday. “I am definitely going to be a receiver that makes plays on Sundays and makes something happen for a team.”

Britt had a good training camp and was expected to have a breakout season. Some early penalties and drops cost him his place in the starting lineup, however, and his playing time began to dwindle. He was inactive for two of the last three games and has just 11 catches for 96 yards on the season.

His contract is expiring, so he said he feels like Sunday’s game against the Texans will be his last with the Titans.

“Whatever happens next year, I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

The 2009 first-round pick acknowledged he became frustrated when he lost playing time, but he bit his tongue. Coaches have raved about his approach and attitude, in fact.

“He’s been awesome,” offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said. “You take a great competitor … and he had to handle adversity and he handled it well. He’s a good kid and a hard worker.”

Britt said he might not have handled a demotion so well earlier in his career, but he now understands “there’s politics” in the NFL.

“I probably would have exploded in my second or third year, but I have matured a lot. There were times I wanted to explode and I had support behind me,” he said. “It’s what they wanted to do, so no hard feelings. They didn’t draft Kendall Wright and Justin Hunter to sit on the bench, and I understand that. They are good players and I hope it works out well for them, too.”

I have a feeling both Britt and C.J. will in fact go on to bigger better things next year.

You put C.J. on any established team and he'll probably play at a high level, same for Britt.

    wrong.

    wrong.

I bet you all my moolah that you are wrong. We'll talk end of 2014. If CJ breaks 1500 yards rushing, or if Britt breaks 1000 yards receiving, you can have all of my moolah. I never use It anyway, and don't even really know what it is or does.

C.J. isnt a leader. When we had Vince and Lendale showing CJ around he was electric. But ever since he's gone from the mashed potatoes and gravy to the honey ham, he's been terrible.

I can picture Britt in a Colts uniform.

Does he have the talent to be a #1 WR? Yes, he does. Will he be a #1 WR? Highly doubt it.

Britt has way too many obstacles to overcome to be any threat these days and I just can't see him overcoming them.

Well Kenneth, 'Step 1' to being a #1 WR is that you must actually learn how to catch the football. So I'd highly recommend you start there.

This doesn't surprise me at all. His personality seems very spiteful and immature. Cj and Britt gave up on this team awhile ago. They just don't care.

I can seem them playing much better on a different team. How much better? Don't know. A good question is how long will it take until they give up on their new team because they didn't like something?

Either way they are aren't worth the risk or headaches.
