People complain about the fans, but then they turn around and talk about how they boo our guys. Booing our guys isn't going to make them play better.

Mike Keith made an interesting comment this morning about the NFL policy on running QBs. All the talk before the season was about how, once a QB becomes a runner, he's no longer given "special protection".

I'll watch the coaches film at some point but it looked like Smith was clearly hit IN BOUNDS. If Fokou extends his arms and pushes him, he gets a penalty. If he doesn't make contact, no doubt Smith extends the ball and tries to reach the marker.

It's not the reason the Titans lost yesterday but it was a key factor in the outcome.

Who booed the players besides Britt?

Yesterday? I don't know. I didn't get to watch the game. I was racing (and listening to the game in my truck in my down time).

He's probably confused because of how loud we were booing the zebras.

The league really needs to hold these refs more accountable for the calls they make. I know there are some calls it is hard to see at real time speed but that personal foul still gets me angry!

I was watching the game with three guys who are fans of another team. They were appalled at the calls made. It is not just a homer argument that the refs sucked. It is pretty obvious they were trying to win the game for the Chiefs.

The question needs to be how do we get the refs to be better at making the correct call. Part of that is just being consistent on interpreting rules.

I agree with that, they also seem to be so quick to throw a flag these days, almost impossible to play the game. I feel like they throw a flag based on the result of the hit, instead of the hit itself which is very unfair. A hit can be legal and hard at the same time but they will throw it because the wide outs head hits the ground. There needs to be some consistency in these calls and these groups of refs need to get it together!

I find it interesting that so many want to blame the refs for the Titans loss. Why not blame the coaching for not running at all to the outside. Or the kicked punt that the Chiefs recovered in the end zone...or going for it on 4th down at the goal line when the Titans had very little run game. Or the Interceptions in the 4th quarter?

As far as the refereeing goes...it works both ways. There was a bogus PI call on Eric Berry that helped the Titans. With regard to the hit on Alex Smith I would offer this: Mike Pereira, formerly the NFL’s vice president of officiating and now an analyst[IMG] for Fox Sports, tweeted “you HAVE to let the QB run out of bounds.” Even the local sports guys on the post game said the same thing.

Smith wasn't out of bounds when Fokou launched himself however it is clear he was making an effort to get out of bounds and not turn up field and 10 times out of 10 that is going to get a flag.

Bottom line...if you want to blame the Titans for losing blame the Jets for the bad hit that knocked Locker out...or the bland play calling in the first half...or the turnovers but to say that one call was the difference between winning and losing is ridiculous.
