Pre-Game Thread Game 4: Jets @ Titans

The two message boards I frequent are this one and JetsInsider. I hope I see a few JI members take the time to pop in. They've started a thread over there linked to this one...

I paid a few members to say nice things about me. After the fact I realized it was likely it was money spent in vain, as after years of posting at GoTitans, most here are aware of what a dick I am. C'est la vie.

Should be a tight, physical game. After spending so much time there I confess to having an affinity for the Jets, but much like when your team is playing your best friends team, there's nothing i'd rather see than the Titans kick some green ass.

An aside: Who are some player that played for both the Jets and the Oilers/Titans?

When I watched AFC playbook today, I laughed. Not because they gave us no respect with saying not a single word about us but the reasons they think the Jets will win. It is like they haven't been watching football all year long. None of them haven't picked us all year long, those 3 guys are awful. Could care less what they say but I find this is a bit funny, at least I think it is....

So they talk about Jets big day on offense racking up 500+ yards to a bad bills defense. Don't get me wrong, very impressive from a rookie QB. However, if they think they can duplicate that then that is where I find it funny. Titans do not have the best defense by any means but they are playing defense that is slowing down offenses. We shut down big ben for 58 minutes, we shut down Schaub till the last quarter, defense stayed on the field too long, blah blah we know the story. Then we face a very hot Rivers and when Rivers gets hot, he typically brings it for a few couple straight weeks. We shut him down to 184 yards.

Our longest reception allowed is 34 yards which ranks 1st in the league. We have not gave up a big play in the passing game. We have been quite discipline in letting things stay in front and avoiding big YAC for opposing offenses. Geno has shown signs of good things but turns over the ball too much which is in our favor.

Geno loves the deep balls and I'm sure he'll test us with the deep balls and if we continue not to give up those big plays then I don't see Jets winning. Geno will rack up 220-250 through the air with 2 picks in my prediction.

This will be a fun and exciting game to watch. We continue to win TOP and the turnover margin then we'll win, 24-14.

 

Funny you decided to post about that AFC playbook this week. I was watching it at the bar and they truly didn't show anything from the Titans. Just Jets Jets Jets, and of course they all 3 picked the Jets. I mean how can you pick the Titans when you don't even mention them in the conversation? I wish I could have seen last weeks show cause I am sure they all picked the Chargers. It was the sme with our win over Steeles too. All they did was talk about what's wrong with the Steelers, not how well the Titans have clearly gotten better from last season.

I wonder how many wins we have to get to finally get some respect? Even if we beat the Jets, they aren't going to give Titans credit. Just bash Rex and how Geno is still a rookie blah blah blah.

Eh, you can't really worry about those guys, when they break down the games they almost always focus on just one of the teams. When we played the Pats, it's was all about them and nothing about us. Nothing to lose any sleep over.

 

Just think 24 hours from now it will be Titans 13 Jets 0 with 3 mins left in the half.
