Titans also work out FB Conner

Michael Robinson is a better player the Conner. The only reason people know who Conner is is because he has a catchy nickname when he was on the Jets during hardknocks.

 

Or perhaps that's the only reason YOU know who he is.

The guy can play...

 

And the Bengals this year. Some might call him an attention whore. But that aside, he's a classic no-nonsense FB who likes to crush people. A fan favorite, but rather one-dimensional. Has worse hands than Ahmard Hall had.

 

Now we talkin... Let it be done.

 

No it's the only reason anybody knows the name of a fullback that can only block. If he wasn't on the Jets during Hardknocks then no one would know who he was. That's not saying he is a bad player or a bad fullback but fullbacks do not get recognized for reasons related to being a FB.

Conner would be an upgrade over Johnson as a blocker undoubtedly but Robinson is just as good of a blocker and can actually catch the ball out of the backfield and play special teams, which is something Conner and Johnson do not offer.

 

Oh, sure. There's no doubt he's a one trick pony. But, he happens to do that one trick VERY well.

 

Not sure why we don't use Battle as the FB. He could truck people and get a sneak carry in every now and then. Why am I so brilliant?

 

What's with the Quinn Johnson hate? I only remember like 4 or 5 passes to him last year, but I don't remember a single drop. Bad hands? WTOSIT? I am all for an upgrade, but don't act like Quinn can't catch!

 

Um...some of us watch football and I don't mean just follow the football. Conner is a throw back FB in that he doesn't play special teams and he doesn't catch the ball, but he does obliterate LB's. No disrespect to Quinn or Robinson, but they DON'T block like Conner does. Unfortunately for Conner it is in vogue to want versatility at the FB position and want a guy there who plays special teams.

In my view, a guy who excels at his primary function is certainly worth having. Having a LB or S almost always eliminated on a CJ running play would give CJ more room to work with and a better chance to break some long runs. I don't really want to throw the ball to the FB nor do I want him to run the ball...thats what we have Greene and Battle for.

Wish I could high five this more, you took the words out of my mind.Versatility is great and all but we don't need versatility, we need a hammer who will spring our great running backs. With all the weapons we have on offense how many balls will realistically be thrown our FB's way? I wouldn't be mad with Robinson at all, the man can block but I want Conner. The man has only one objective.
