The Ravens lost Jacoby Jones to a sprained knee (and possibly worse) last night. They traded Anquan Boldin away this off-season. Dennis Pitta is on IR with a fractured hip. They have the thinnest receiving corps in the league.

Ozzie Newsome is likely making some calls today about acquiring a WR.

As we all know, the Titans have too many of them. So many, in fact, that Justin Hunter is rumored to not even dress this Sunday.

It's not hard to put the pieces together here. If I was Ruston, I'd be all ears with regards to what I could get for Nate Washington. This is the sell-high opportunity.

Always listen. Don't overreact. Don't take their offer. Win Sunday.

I'm with you. Worst case is that none of the new WRs step up during the season, then we franchise Britt and draft a WR late next year.

Which leaves Britt, Wright, and whoever is left out of the WRs we still have for next year.

Nate will be our leading receiver again this year.

Yeah I can't see us trading our most reliable receiver from the past few years... a guy who was just named team captain. Sure we look deep on paper. But Britt could go down at any moment. Hunter and Preston are totally unproven. And Wright didn't exactly wow anyone last year.

Also, you have to remember this staff is very much on the hot seat. Trading away arguably our most reliable offensive player doesn't make very much sense.

I get what you're saying, but Nate is not the difference between a Super Bowl and no Super Bowl. Smart teams deal from a position of strength and do it consistently enough to ensure they remain strong.

If the Titans can't survive with Britt, Wright and Hunter (two first-rounders and a second-rounder), then there are issues that run far deeper than anything the presence of Nate Washington can fix. And those issues will be a lot easier to repair with an extra draft pick (which the Titans would get by trading Nate).

I do see what you are saying, but this a young team that needs to have a good season to build morale. Hunter is a raw rookie. Britt is undependable. Wright should be good this year. But it's still ? ? ?. A playoff appearance and that experience would do more for this team than an extra draft pick, imo. (of course it depends on how that draft pick turns out) Don't think it would be smart to trade one of the better offensive players before the season even starts (or after week 1).

Hunter is not ready to contribute. Not even close.
