Verner wins starting job at CB

Nothing ventured nothing gained. Dude is a seventh rounder. Anything more than third string is a bonus.

Woulda been awesome if we kept one of the best CB's this franchise has ever had.


OH WELL, NOT LIKE WE DON'T HAVE A TON OF GOOD CB'S ON THE ROSTER ALREADY.

 

Nobody won the job, Verner just didn't lose it.

We're not starting the better of the two.. we're starting the least bad of the two. Not the way for your ideal position battle to end.

 

“Competition is going to make you a better player,’’ Verner said

So not a waste if both players got better.

 

You watched them play, you be the judge. Personally, I saw no improvement in either. Discouraging coming from two guys in a position battle.

 

Verner is a very good corner. The leagues best??? No, but solid at what he does. Makes some mistakes, but makes more than up for it in the big plays he comes up with. I, for one, am happy. No surprise he is the starter.

 

Verner makes heady plays, but he just doesn't have the physical attributes. I doubt we retain him after the year is over.

 

Oh shaddap with that nonsense.

Verner is a good corner back. Stop being dramatic.

 

I'm a big Verner fan but I fear he's not a good fit for this new scheme.

Oh well, Campbell had to earn it and he flat out didn't do that.
