On the draft priorities following the large crop of free-agent signings:
“I think what free agency has done for us is it gives us some flexibility to do what we want to do or take the guy we feel is the best player at the time where we’re picking. That’s been the positive of what’s happened free agency-wise, is that it’s given us flexibility. It doesn’t necessarily pigeon-hole us with one position or another.”

    Thoughts?

Will be interesting to see who we pick with the 10th pick

The FO has done a great job of setting us up for BPA. The other huge upside to this is that it allows us to trade down if we need to in the first because we aren't tied to needing a certain player or position.

Although this draft doesn't have a ton of top end talent, it is very deep at our positions of need. this again allows us to take BPA because of the depth.

Of the top guys in the draft their just isn't a single one that I would be pissed if we drafted. I'm also not getting a high bust factor associated with many of the high picks, but with that I'm also not seeing many guys that will be perrenial pro-bowlers either.

I've been a supporter of trading back all along. If we could get another 2nd somehow that would be amazing. I'd package #10 and let SD move up to take Lane Johnson if he's there. They definitely need the help on the o-line and I think that trade is a possibility. SD has shown in the past they like to move up if there's a player they're targeting like the year they did so to take Ryan Matthews.

We might have to throw in a late pick like a 6th or 7th to get a 2nd from them, but I just feel like we need one more pick in the top 100 to really solidify our roster.

Yup, the front office has set this up beautifully. BPA can be Star, Milliner or Ansah. If those 3 are gone, Warmack or Cooper will probably be the best player on our board. I have a feeling we could be high on Trufant or Rhodes but I don't think that's "BPA" at 10.

This is where you may see a trade that involves Nate Washington, thrown in to sweeten the pot on getting a better trade to move down.
