What's so great about Cooper's play at 1:40. Seen that mentioned twice now, but what am I missing? For some reason the vid highlights 2 different players.

He runs down field and touches a DB?... Alright. He's fast. Cool. What else is there?

Warmack just seems more tough on the line to me. I feel Cooper will get shoved around once he's playing better competition.

That will depend on who falls honestly. While unlikely, if Jarvis Jones, Milliner, Geno Smith, or Star fall us at #10, there would likely be someone willing to nice up for them. And I say odds are pretty good that one of them falls.

Give me Larry Warford over both though. I don't care if it's the 2nd round or 1st- if we're going G, I think he's more impressive.

Cooper's run blocking is the main reason I'm not sold on him. Yeah, if he gets to the 2nd level he can knock folks out, but he seems to struggle in the trenches on run plays. He has to bulk up, also.

The play at 1.40 was hightlighted I think due to his athletisism, stopping 2 rushers dead in there tracks then sprinting 50 yeards down field to take out a CB is impressive.

I do tend to agree with you on Larry Warford, I like his fit with us at RG probably more than either Cooper or Warmack. 2nd rounder though.

Warmack is a fat, slow pile, lol. Gimme Cooper, k thanks.

More importantly though, Cooper is a much better pass blocker and in today's NFL that is vital.

Also, Cooper is much more versatile and could be an elite center as well, huge edge there.

You pretty much nailed it, he's fast... I was just shocked by how fast a 6'3 320 guy could get down the field haha

Hmmm...well who ran the faster 40? Cooper! Oh oh we'll take him. Brilliant logic, that fat slow pile is widely considered a top 5 prospect for a reason. If they take Cooper over Warmack because of some 3 cone and 40 times the FO dropped the ball. We are using a POWER scheme Warmack is a POWER guard you take the best guy who also happens to be a better scheme fit for what we are trying to do. CJ would have a field day running behind him and Stew.

We don't need C we need a G and while down the line that might be great we are drafting a G to play G for the next couple years. You don't take centers round 1.

Actually we are NOT using a POWER scheme. Unless you know what if our OC is changing the run blocking game. Until I hear otherwise, we are still a zone blocking team, in which athleticism and movement are vital over sheer power.

I'd love to draft one of the OGs in the 1st but it comes down to how we have players graded. People are all over the place on who we should take at #10. Rhodes, Trufant (assuming Milliner is gone), Star, Richardson (assuming Floyd is gone), Ansah, Werner, Patterson and some even want Austin for some insane reason.

If I was stuck at #10 and I was making the decision it would be between Ansah, Werner, Star or Patterson depending on who was left with maybe Patterson leading the way. But I'm still not sure we are getting the best value there. I'd really push to see if Maimi is interested in moving up for an OT since Johsnon is probably the only one left at that point. Point being, who on that list of names I listed is still going to be available? Obviously all but one if not all four.

Now, if we really want an OG and we really don't have a huge preference between Cooper and Warmack (in my option both offer different attributes, Warmack more of a power guy, Cooper more of a finesse) we could even trade down again if we don't trade too far and still get one of the OGs. Obviously the question is who would want to move up. SO while I'd love to draft one of the OGs I firmly believe we can drop back and still get one.

The thing is Warmack looked good in college when asked to pull or move out on screen plays, get to the 2nd level so sometimes this idea that it is night and day between him and Cooper in any scheme is misleading. Warmack moves very well for a guy who is a tremendous power guy at the POA Also, Levitre is more like Cooper, (or Cooper is more like Levitre). Maybe having one power OG isn't such a bad idea instead of two finesse guys. After all, Stewart and Roos are different type players as well. So one side of the OL can be more of a power side.
