I've noticed a lot of D'Morg hate here recently. Just wanted to let everyone know that D'Morg is legit (finally). He's finally starting to get notice around the league, a few articles for you:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1444339-br-nfl-1000-2013-top-50-4-3-defensive-ends/page/45

Before you go crazy about it being B/R, it's done by Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout on twitter). The dude knows his stuff and is one of the best follows on twitter if you're a draft junkie. He has Morgan as the 7th best 4-3 DE.

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/01/09/2012-pff-all-afc-south-team/

ProFootballFocus has Morgan on the All-AFC South team, and states that he had the third-highest Pass Rushing Productivity score of all 4-3 defensive ends for the year. I also know (but can't find the article) he had the highest of ALL players in the 2nd half of the season.

Sure, Derrick Morgan doesn't get the 10+ sacks or put up monster numbers. He does however do all the little things, great in run support, and gets pressure on the QB. Sacks are an inflated/overrated stat, but still important no doubt. Just wanted to prove a point that Derrick Morgan has improved vastly from the bust that many of you think he is. Get ready for a big 2013 year from Morgan!

10 is the standard for a first round DE in his third season. He needs a breakout year to get off the bust-wagon, and idk if 8 sacks qualifies.

Obviously, pass rushing is about effective pressure of the QB, and sacks don't necessarily tell the whole tale. But I need to see some statistical, quantifiable production out of Morgan already.

Morgan is one of those players that is good at everything, but not amazing at any one thing. I'm sorry but Morgan is anything but a bust. Just because he doesn't have the sack numbers doesn't mean he isn't a very good DE. Dwight Freeney was considered an elite DE, but he was practically nonexistent against the run, which is a big reason why the Colts have pretty much always been terrible against the run over the last 10 years.

Morgan is equally good vs the pass and run, even though he isn't great at either one I'd say he is above average among DE's in both categories
