I'm a big fan of Terry Hawtorne, he's more of a 3rd comp - 4th rounder guy. Banks, Taylor, Amerson, Poyer, or Slay are the CBs that would be available in Rd 2... none are huge on my boards.

I'll tell you what, i'm warming up to Xavier Rhodes @ #10

That's a good point but I still think we can find a good CB in the 2nd leaving DE or G in the first.

I'm thinking about how much the Titans blitzed late in the year. We were consistently sending overloads with ZB/Ayers, and I expect that to continue. When you blitz like that, you need a CB who can jam at the LOS. McCourty/Verner both play 5+ yards off the receivers, which makes it easy for the receiver to pickup a kill route (1 yrd slant/etc), so the QB can get the ball away quicker. You put Rhodes up vs a receiver, he'll jam them at the LOS and the QB will have to hold onto the ball.

If he said that in regards to the Peyton Manning then Munch should apologize.

Obviously Peyton still has game or at least had enough to be very good last year.

We would've had a better record with him and most likely a playoff appearance.

Yea but that wasn't the front offices plan, they went into that whole thing unprepared because they never thought to pursue him.

That's a really good point. I'm trying to remember the Saints CB's over the past few years with Williams (let's face it he's going to be eventually in charge) and they usually do have a press guy. I wonder if McCourty could be that guy? I remember him doing that his rookie year so I wonder if the FO would try and push him back to that style. Verner definitely belongs inside now. Rhodes would give us a different type of CB but honestly I think him or Trufant would be fine in our defense. I would probably take either one at 10 but there is a solid chance one might fall to us in the 2nd. In that Trufant v. Rhodes thread I did start warming up to Rhodes a bit just because I fell in love with his physical play but still think Trufant is a more versatile and safer pick.

Don't care. If Front Office/Munch didn't fully pursue Peyton with the full intent of signing him and being on board with Bud's wishes.... AND WORSE if Munch is making negative comments like Bud screwed them last offseason...

then I have to entirely revisit my stance and say that Munch should have been fired after the season with no chance at a 3rd season.

Because clearly Munch/FO were wrong and Bud would've been right.

And I still don't think people understand what the ramifications of signing Peyton would've been. You are talking about an increase in the value of the tickets and an increase in general fanbase from all the Vols fans that would've jumped on board and likely we would've retained a large percentage after they started visiting the Titans stadium and realized how fun the Titans games are. Point being there were great reason to pursue a living Vol legend even if it was only better in the short term and not long term (only regarding wins) for the Titans. Because for fan support it would definitely been better in the long term had we signed Peyton.
