    Barrett Jones :)

Honestly, i'm hoping for: 1st: DE/CB 2nd: WR... then trade back into late 2nd to pickup Barrett. We can offer our 3rd & 4th, or a pair of 3rd (one next year). '13 3rd & '14 3rd to move up 10 spots and grab Barrett... worth it.

    Imagine this draft:
    1st: Ansah or Rhodes
    2nd: Patton, Hopkins, or Hunter
    2nd: Barrett Jones
3rdC: DE or CB (whatever we didn't take Rd1)

I think much like FA, we will be aggressive in the draft. Hopefully The players we target, are solid tho. I could see us trading up to assure a pick.

Change the WR to a TE and I think we are better off. Mainly because a TE is spose to be a young qbs best friend. Of course that depends in where they think Thompson will be this season.

I said this earlier that Tavon Austin is a real possibility at 10. Wouldn't be my first choice, but I am not opposed to it. I want that 2nd round WR though. Hopefully Patton or Hunter. You guys think either of those guys could drop to the 3rd?

WR is a bigger need right now. We have two "good enough" TEs in Walker/Stevens... as far as WR we have....... exactly.

Well long term we don't have depth.. But considering britt is supposed to be a number 1, given injury ghettoness and his off field issues, see how he plays this year before cutting him off. Washington is old. Can play up to potential tho. Wright is young and needs to play up to potential. The problem with taking a Rookie WR is that they hardly make a huge difference their first year. Especially second or third rounders.

I do agree we need a WR presence but I'm not sure we will get much more than another "wright" in production from them. Rarely does an AJ green come along. There is deep talent this year but a lot of future prospects more so than rookie wonders.

So, Britt has one good year... you going to offer him a big deal? I wouldn't. We know what comes along with his play, injuries and off-the-field crap. He'll take the most money he can get. Some team will be stupid enough to pay him due to "potential"... I hope it's not us.

Washington is only 29, but he's no more than a servicable #2.

I want a true playmaker, and we can find one in the 2nd-3rd round. Sure, they won't be an AJ GREEN/JULIO JONES/CALVIN JOHNSON - it could be another 10 years before we see WRs of their pedigree. We can find our Greg Jennings, DeSean Jackson, Vincent Jackson, and so on and so on - all those WRs were 2nd rounders. We can find a difference maker, we just need to be careful not to draft another Paul Williams, Courtney Roby, or Brandon Jones.

Our future WR core could be: 2nd Rounder - Wright - Nate, and i'd be happy with that trio.

Nate Washington may look only 29, but his orthopedist thinks he's 43

that guys body has been to hell and back the last 2 years

No no. Don't mistake me in saying Brit gets this year. I would never sign him to another contract. however he will see the field for us this year. And Nate has already been on the chopping block... So I wouldn't put too much stock in him being here much after this season, if at all.

I do agree that next year, we need another wr to take over for britt. I'm just not sure that second round pick helps us win THIS YEAR. And I'm pretty positive munch isn't looking at much beyond this year. Lol

I understand we need better WR's, but I rather draft a WR (if needed) until 3rd round or later. I'm ready for us to draft the next Calvin Johnson one year if we ever get rid of this early round WR curse.
