If we get Dumervil and Pollard then we need to wait and address WR in the draft. If it's truly as big of a need as the FO is letting on then we can totally trade back and pick Tavon Austin, who is going to be a great slot WR in the NFL.

The last 3 years Lloyd has averaged 74 catches for 1108 yards during the same period Nate averaged 54 catches for 819 yards. Not endorsing one over the other, just offering up real world statistics. No commentary on the quality of QB's as that would apply to every single receiver in the league when compared to the Titans inconsistent play from that position.

I would rate Lloyd and Washington even and it would be nice to have both for a year.

Still we have to ask this question, what is wrong with lloyd?

Serious because every team that has him wants him gone the next year. The Broncos gave him up for 6th rd pick. The Rams seemed to make no effort to keep him around even though they were desperate for Wrs and he gave them 51 catches over 10 games.

Now the Pats have cut him loose despite the loss of Welker. What is wrong with this guy that nobody wants to keep him around.

Nate is a great teammate and a high effort player with no baggage. Is there something in the locker room that Lloyd is viewed as a negative for the team? I have never seen a WR who gets you 70 catches and a thousand yards every year be so expendable.

Denver 2010 Lloyd had an elite season with 1448 yards receiving and 11 Tds. After 4 games the following year they dumped him for a 6th rd pick!

It wasn't his production he had 19 catches in those 4 games. He would go to the Rams and give them 51 more.

So again why do teams seem willing to drop this guy like a bad habit?

The Pats gave him a decent 3 year deal and were willing to eat that money after just one season. Again it could not have been his production he gave them 74 catches for 911 yards.

To add to the strangeness in his situation, is he has put up good numbers on almost every team he has been on. So he is not a system guy which is what is hard to tell with receivers. I would like to think that if he was a locker room cancer, the media would have picked up on it. Its just an odd situation but I am not against bringing him in.

Since the Pats cut lloyd and lost welker. What if they are going to use their first to sign Cruz? Its something I would see them doing and I can't imagine them running with injury prone Amendola and Emmanuel Sanders (if they sign him) as their starting WRs

    Just a thought

They might work on Sanders for the 3rd round tender but no way they send a first for the salsa dancer

I don't really think they will but I can't imagine them only going with sanders and amendola as their starters. It just popped in my head this morning

It's the patriots. They can afford to be willy nilly about the WRs cuz they have two of the best TEs in the game. Both of them make up for the difference in the outside. They basically need bodies on the outside. Their play makers are already on the roster. Along with their run game.
