If healthy, KB should be our red zone go-to guy. KW can also be very effective in the red zone. We need a deep threat/burner. MW is the best receiver in FA, and he would greatly improve our receiving corps. Who would rather have Nate washington out there over Mike Wallace? Anybody?
Jennings is getting old, he's got injury problems, and I don't think he would be all that great without Rodgers. Don't get me wrong, I definitely wouldn't poo poo it if we were to sign Jenning, but I would much rather have Wallace. MW wont come cheap, but neither will Jennings. We don't have much money at all invested in our receivers. There's no problem with going out and getting a difference maker for the team, especially with Cook leaving. If we just let Cook go and we don't sign the best receiver we can, then our receiving corps just got worse over the off season. We need to move forward here, not backwards like we usually do.

Nate is certainly expendable, only caught 2-3 balls most games, and is scheduled to make over $4M this year.

Signing Wallace makes sense if Nate is gone.

    What are you talking about?

Obviously you've forgotten about Lavelle Hawkins

Wallace is indeed a specific type of receiver. And we have a very specific type of QB. I think they are a good fit for each other. Britt would definitely remain in the X, but Wallace would be that perfect receiver on the opposite side that gets open for Locker on those extended plays.

Just like Big Ben did, Locker runs around and creates time. Wallace runs around (faster than anyone else) and gets open. So I can see why the Titans are showing interest. However, I'm not sure we will want to shell out the dough that others are willing to shell out considering we already have 2 young first round WRs already on the roster.

Do we have the money to spend on him? Specially going to 2 TE sets and more run.... This seems backwards.

I would however dig the possibility but dissent make as much sense as what's been said lately

In a perfect world, the addition of Wallace would give us a perfectly balanced receiving corp... Kenny would be the possession/red zone receiver, Wallace would be the deep threat/burner, and KW would man the slot. It'd be a phenomenal group of weapons for Locker.

But that's in a perfect world - the jury is still out on Britt, and to a far lesser extent, KW.

If we cut Hawkins and Washington I could see us getting into the Mike Wallace race to the tune of 5 years 42 million. I'd rather have Fasano and Wallace over Cook and Washington.

That doesn't matter. Not every team has that type of guy to be their #1. KB is supposed to be that guy for us. He's a freak. He made a big step last year staying healthy all year, and he was only arrested, what, once? Hopefully he continues to improve this year, but if he doesn't, is a 30 year old injury prone Jennings the best replacement? let's not get into another Hasselbeck situation. If we're going to throw down that kind of money, I think we should get the best guy out there. I don't care if he's "prototypical" or not. Does he help our team? Yes!
