The guy was excellent in the playoffs, perfect. No one can deny that. Although I will admit that he had some terrible games during the regular season but most QBs do. He has the strongest arm in the league. Although hes not the best QB in the league but there are only a handful or so better. Still better than anything we got and I don't play Madden, EA ruined it.

My point is he does not deserve that kind of contract and its only going to come back to hurt the Ravens in years to come. It's gonna be redone in a few years.

Joe Flacco played the four best games of his life in the playoffs last year. No one has ever seen him play a stretch like that. Ever. Luckiest guy in the league.

Anyone but a Ravens fan can name five or six QBs EASILY that surpass this lucky SOB.

Yea that's very true. Contracts like that only debilitate a team. It's always obvious.

Though he doesn't deserve this much money (no one does tbh). I do believe he is elite. Right now there are only 7 active quarterbacks in the NFL that have won a superbowl. The way I see it, no matter how talented a guy is you can't ever know for sure whether or not that guy can take you all the way unless you've seen him do it. Flacco has done it once and almost twice. Instead of dumping money on guys you think might get you to the promised land, why not lock up one that you know can do it?

Apparently if you win a SB now, you are elite. Okay.

The argument is not really about him being good, it's on the rails of him warranting the biggest contract in NFL history.

Its easy to be good when the NFL writes you a story book ending for an accomplice to murder.

This is not a Trent Dilfer situation. Flacco is a major reason this team has been as successful as it has been. We've got tons of guys with amazing arm talent who haven't won anything. Jay Cutler, Phillip Rivers, Tony Romo; all these guys are considered elite by many people but how many rings have they brought to their teams? 0 between all of them. Flacco just led his team to a superbowl and probably has at least 7 years left in his career.

QB is unlike any other position in the game. The first thing everyone looks at when trying to determine whether a guy belongs in the hall or not is championships. Not how hard you throw or how "elite" you look doing it. You have to be in Dan Marino territory to even sniff the hall if you didn't get a ring. Of course there will always be guys who "luck" into winning it all but by and large history judges QB's by rings, so will I...Unless your name is Trent Dilfer, I know what I just said but no.
