I can only really relate to our 2nd round picks and to me Smith seems like a pretty good pick considering you know 90 percent of what you're getting.

Niners are stock-piling picks (what 14 / 15?) and should take a page out of New England's playbook and package a handful of those for players who can win now. Some of the niners only glaring holes are CB, DT and maybe a playmaking WR. What a rip off of a trade.

I understand KC wants a more established QB, Cassell is a joke. However, Alex Smith has no arm strength - he will be constently checking-down to Jamaal Charles, which may not be a bad thing in the grand-scheme of things.

Rumor is with the Niners being interested in a shut-down corner, Darrell Revis - they could give the Jets much needed draft picks. During the Superbowl the niners most glaring need was a shut-down corner; Revis would will that immediately. Dang San Fran is making all the right moves latley - since Harbaugh.

To be honest, this isn't the draft I'd be too excited about stockpiling picks for. Now if they had those picks last year or the year before.... I'd be super happy. they should package a handful for some talented players.

Find me a 2nd round player in this draft who's as proven and less of a risk than Alex Smith

the price was high because the guy threw at an stupid good completion percentage (70%) and had a rating over 104...some nights I pray Locker could be that good, and we wasted a top 8 pick on Locker.

This is a good move by the Chiefs. Get yourself a reliable QB that can be a bridge for as long as you need until you get a good QB available at your pick in the future. Now you can focus on building the rest of the team so when you do get that franchise QB you're good to go. A 2nd seems a bit much but I rather use a 2nd on Smith rather than waste a 1st on a high risk/medium reward QB.
