I would go with it. Our first priority should be enabling our offense to move the ball.

I'd even say in addition to Warmack and Warford in the 1st and 2nd respectively, go ahead and take Barret Jones in the 3rd, I'm of the opinion that the offense was just as responsible for the defense's problems as the defense itself was, maybe even more so. If the other team starts in field goal range your don't really have a chance. This is a deep class on D, we could take rambo with our comp 3rd, the honey badger or a DE in the 4th, Lattimore in the 5th,

What's this I hear about being not the sharpest crayon in the box ? Only plays one position? That scares me a bit. After watching the combine today, I like Ziggy with 10th. Hoping he falls. If not Mayock's pin-up boy Dion Jordan will work. All these guards and centers will fall to us later. safeties too maybe.

    Are you referring to Warmack?

Guards don't need to be smart nor do they need to be able to play multiple positions. That is a bonus, but you want him playing his natural position... not C or LT.

Star L left ventricular ejection fraction is 44%. That is not good for a man of his age and size. The physical demands will be too much for a sustained NFL career.

Yes, Warmack. I know it would be pretty safe pick and I am nitpicking. I saw a bunch of other guys in the draft that we could get later or even better trading up to get one. We can maybe get Ansah too. Warmack is good player though.

I'd take Star for 2 reasons.

    1. The drop off in guard talent from round 1 to 2 isn't nearly as significant as it is with DT. Warford in the 2nd would be almost as good as Warmack at 10. Much better value in round 2 at guard.

    2. Do you guys remember when Al was DOMINATING at DT in 2008 and how everyone else on defense played so much better because of it? That's what Star can bring if he plays like he's capable of. I almost considered it good news to find out about his condition because it gives him a much better chance of falling to us.

Wimbley & Morgan got pressure last year but didn't have huge sack totals. That's because our DTs didn't collapse the pocket & the QBs just stepped up while our DEs ran past them.

Warmack. Let's see if Star slides to the 2nd.

Here's the thing about Warmack "not being bright"

An anonymous scout said Alabama OG Chance Warmack "scares the hell" out of him because he's "not real bright".
"They tell you he can't play more than one position and you have to be careful in games what kind of adjustments you make," the scout said. "Not a real bright kid. He kind of reminds me of (Seattle's James) Carpenter. You see stuff that's impressive, then later in the game he starts to fade. For me, a guard has to be perfect to take in the first round. Because how much difference is there in that guy and a guy you take in the fourth?"
