Ok so if you've ever seen Texas A&M play then you want Ryan Swope on your team, but we're set at WR (for the moment) so none of us are talking about him too much, actually not at all until now.

But let me make a case for this guy because every time I watch Texas A&M and Johnny Football wow America, I watched Ryan Swope win his team the game.

This weekend was the NFL Combine, and there Swope once again impressed me. Dude ran a 4.3 forty time, put up 16 reps of 225 (good for WR's) and posted a 37-inch vertical.

So what if he's only 6 feet, this guy is a former RB turned WR and we know our coaches like guys who can get the yards after contact, and this guy can. We also know our coaches like players with production, and in his last 2 years at Texas A&M Swope collected over 2100-yards and 20 TD's.

I have little interest in us using a pick on a WR, but this kid is special and should be considered for one of our mid round picks. After next year, the only WR's worth a crap we have signed are Washington and Wright, we might want to invest in a WR now so that by that time we'll have 3 reliable guys at the position.

    Thoughts?

I mean this guy is another Kendall Wright kind of receiver, but faster, and wont be hurt i.e. Kenny Britt. He'll be available every week, and that's important.

Whatever man. They are all like Derrick Mason. Did not hear too many people complaining when he was starting for us.

No way would I take this guy at all. Kendall Wright is a first round investment and he is our slot WR for the foreseeable future.

Now, if we're talking about going for a WR in the 4th round then I would much prefer someone like Aaron Mellette, Cobi Hamilton or Marcus Wheaton if he drops into the 4th.

Yeah I really like Wheaton too, he just seems to always beat his man.

i'm with you I really like Swope. Guy had a monster combine and has monster production to back it up, in the SEC no less. 6'0 is plenty tall for WR in the NFL. You'd be surprised how many "big" wide receivers are only 6'0 or 6'1. Hakeem Nicks, Anquan Boldin, and Greg Jennings are all 6'1 or under (Jennings is 5'11"). Sadly he'll be overlooked because of his race. If he were a black guy with those measurables and that production in the SEC he'd be a 2nd round lock. Hope we take him with our comp 3rd or in the 4th.

Too bad he isn't 6'2" or taller, because they are the only type of WR that is going to be welcomed in Nashville.

He could come to practice and get revenge on Markelle Martin!

I think he is fantastic, but I swear he got KTFO every time I watched him. I think he'll be like Austin Collie.
