I really like what you guys are saying. If we can get a 'S' beside him who can lay some wood and clean up in the run game, I think Griff can return to his old ways - or at least somewhere close enough.

I also really say this b/c Grif was at his best during the 'Big Al' days. While Casey is no Al, he's pretty darn good and going in his 3rd year now I expect huge things from him on an improved and aggressive D. Throw in Martin who also really impressed me in his rookie year and our line should really by default improve the back-end.

Correct. I was referring to the patriots strategy at WR but use it for our S position. I realize that I didn't make that clear of a statement. Either way I stand by it. More options at that position will allow us to pick and choose the right guy and get the most out of them.

For the record I also agree with The Playmaker on our WR core. Its a spot that will need more love in the very near future.

Two Kings and The Playmaker i'm not sure really what your saying in regards to our WRs.... J Falk got it right though....

    --

Nate made some nice plays for us the past two years in particular. He was never meant to be a No.1 in my opinion (regardless of what they paid him). But nonetheless he has definitely played well for us and over his time here he improved on all those dropped balls (although I was very mad when he dropped that sure fired TD-bomb from Lock, young QBs need to see their WRs make those catches).

Wright I was actually somewhat disappointed with to be honest. I thought he was going to make some electrifying plays for us this year, maybe a long bomb TD or 80+ yard screen to the house, but nothing such took place. However, I like the kid's fire and he seems to be a student of the game from what I read, so I can still see him becoming a star for us - in a very similar role to Mase back in the day.

Now on to Hawk and D-will.

Firstly, D-Will he played very, very, well for us. I think he had one bad play all of last year and he wasn't even on the field damn much, so the kid could never get in rhythm. In fact, I remember SO MANY times he would come on the field, make a solid play and then get taken off right away for like a QTR or something. I really think he shoulda been featured more.

Lavelle, actually never played, for real. In the one game he did, he was like our only receiver who connected with Lock for a long gainer. I remember I followed snap counts during the year and the kid just was rarely on the field (and was inactive for quite a bit too).

With D-Will and Hawk, I really thought they both shoulda seen the field more as their respective snap counts were disgusting. After starting last year and playing much more they should have definitely been given a chance to show what they can do.

Britt... That dude better just wake the F*CK up... He is (was?) just too goood to become a nobody, even Moss says so... On a side note, I'd love to kill 'em in some COD...

    --

Back to your Brady comment, the point of all that is to say that I believe that our WRs in talent could destroy what they got in NE. If you pair our same group (Britt/D-Will/Wright/Nate/Hawk) in a different city (for sake of better coordinators) with an elite QB or gun slinger, they'd prove it in no time. I mean, if Wes went to like any other team after being a nobody in Miami, he woulda never been what he is today - that was more Brady and system then Wes.

The point here is that our shoddy QB play (heck, Lock was almost awful) and bad play calling/design DEFINITELY held us back more so than our WRs. If I had to make a choice right now I'd THROW away my QB/Coordinator combo, over my WRs/TEs combo, in like a heart beat. Jake needs to develop and fast because its on him (and Dowell/Munch) right now to fix the O (and yes, they should definitely start by getting a couple solid interior linemen).

Haha ok well this is embarrassing. I wasn't saying we do that to any of our WRs. I was referring to our S position. Sorry if you wasted your time.

Hhahhaah don think it was a waste. I did make a mistake, it was directed for both you and Playmaker actually. I edited it before i even saw this too, pretty funny....

Anyway, I know this is a defensive thread, and saw WR talk, so naturally I found the need to digress (know how loved that stuff is here lol), and talk about what I said prolly a billion times during the season.

Nearly any nfl player is an upgrade over any safety (fs or ss) that we have on our roster. We have the worst safeties in the league

That's an awful lot for a safety who has missed a ton of games over the past few years with a bad achilles and who, let's face it, is probably on steroids. I don't see the Titans paying anything close to that -- especially not with so much money tied up in Griffin (stupidly).

I don't see how that's "good news" for the Titans.
