Any smart team does not bring out all the goodies in the fist game of the season. Typically you want to save your more interesting plays for later in the season. If you are winning without the wrinkles then you save them for the playoffs.

In other words, other teams look at your tape from all the other previous games that year and if they see your special plays they prepare for them. You want to catch teams off guard.

Hold your horses. If what he intends to do is copy other teams success, he will be easy to figure out. I "hope" he is creative, but I hold my reservations.

    Not necessarily.

I watch the Seahawks run the same play 2 times in a row, then they go back to it later in the game for the third time in one game.

If you can execute a play, milk it for all it's worth.

Jim Sorgi said the Colts offense only consisted of 16-18 plays any given week during the Manning/Moore years. They simply mastered their plays to the point no one could stop them.

Just cause a playbook has 300 or so plays doesn't mean you should feel the need to call a new one every time...

If Loggains wants to mimic other offenses that work, fine by me.

The only thing Ive seen Locker excel at is qb draw plays where he rolls right... The play that we had a lot of success with in 09 when cj and vince ran it to death. I saw them wear that play out at baptist this summer but dont ever remember seeing it in a game in 2012. Palmer was painfully stubborn!

I have to agree. We are FOLLOWING. The good teams LEAD.

The good teams already know how to defend the things they further developed. Sounds like we are 2 years behind as usual.

It's a copycat league. Everybody mimics everybody

Too bad we're always behind on this kind of stuff and we're never the team that comes up with new concepts before other teams figure them out...

I think we're just as much a trend setter as anyone. I mean Fisher was playing prehistoric football in the 2000's but it worked every 3 years, and after we drafted Chris Johnson in the first, all of a sudden you see LeSean McCoy, CJ Spiller, and other scatback-like RB's go early and carry the load for their teams.

Other pure speed backs picked high after CJ were Jahvid Best, Dexter McCluster. Before CJ did it big in 2009 you didn't see much of this happening.

Yeah wow is right. How many other qb's could sit for a year and then come in on a weeks notice and lead his team to a 4th quarter comeback/game winning drive against the would be superbowl champs?!?! Tom Brady couldnt even do it! He had his chance in the superbowl and failed. I cant seriously remember a time VY had a chance to have a game winning drive and failed!
