He's a system QB that mostly uses his legs to be effective.

You've never seen a QB like that that ends up being not so good?

.... I remember one very distinctively.

Once Kap's legs are gone, he's mediocre at the very best.

He's decent currently - throwing slants to Vernon Davis and hitting wide open receivers on one read.

He can't make a career out of that though.

These are the very points I've been making. He does have the potential tho. Gotta build on his mechanics and his ability to read defenses.

Jim Harbaugh still wanting Alex Smith to play even when Kap was playing well tells me all I kneed to know about Kap.

...Harbaugh knows who he really is. And this season wasn't it.

He could have easily switched back to Smith though with little to no backlash AND probably traded Kaep for a first.

You brought up VY... That's exactly what I said you can't do.

Kaepernick is clearly a million times better than VY ever was.

    VY 2006: 184/357 (51.5%), 2,199 yards, 12 TD, 13 INT, 66.7 rating; 83 rushes, 552 yards, 7 TD
    VY 2007: 238/382 (62.3%), 2,546 yards, 9 TD, 17 INT, 71.1 rating; 93 rushes, 395 yards, 3 TD
    VY 2008: 22/36 (61.1%), 219 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 64.5 rating; 8 rushes, 27 yards, 0 TD
    VY 2009: 152/259 (58.7%), 1,879 yards, 10 TD, 7 INT, 82.8 rating; 55 rushes, 281 yards, 2 TD
    VY 2010: 93/156 (59.6%), 1,255 yards, 10 TD, 3 INT, 98.6 rating; 25 rushes, 125 yards, 0 TD
    VY 2011: 66/144 (57.9%), 866 yards, 4 TD, 9 INT, 60.8 rating; 18 rushes, 79 yards, 0 TD
    VY 2012 - couch

When have you ever seen VY sling one in there in which the ball is so beautifully thrown and placed exactly where it needs to be like Kaepernick does multiple times in every game? VY was never capable of that. You wanna talk about a guy who could only impress you with his legs - that's VY.

Maybe you've ignored some of Kaepernick's dimes or didn't realize that he throws the fastest ball in the history of the game, but there's simply no comparison between Kaep and VY. None whatsoever.

I just hope those of you who are doubting him are ready to come back and eat crow when the Niners are 13-3 next year and face the Seahawks in the NFC championship (I gotta wait until after preseason to pick the winner). I'll be ready to eat lots of crow if he sucks, but that's just not going to happen.

Ah if only it were that easy.

Tell me... who had a better supporting offense? VY or Kaepernick?

    Yep.

And with that? Sorry- Kaep isn't that much better statistically than VY for the cast argument to be thrown out.

He can throw intermediate passes slightly better. That's it.

In his 11th start he got closer to a superbowl ring than any of our QB's in franchise history ever have..Some career.
