I'm sure everyone has heard the news already, but I just wanted to start a thread on the subject lol.

I personally was angry at first because I thought we could get a good young SF in return for Rudy(someone like Gallinari or Harrison Barnes), but now that I've had some time to think about it I think our team will probably get better because of it. Davis is a little Zbo, so him being able to learn from him is great. Austin Daye is shooting 53% from 3(not to mention he's 6'11 and only 24 years old). Tayshaun Prince is Tayshaun Prince. He will offer grit and grind style of play while also knocking down a good percentage of his shots. This deal also saves us about 5 million more in cap space.

Rudy was my favorite player, but we never used him the way he needed to be used. He will shine in Toronto, just like Mayo is shining in Dallas, but with our inside/out style of play it just wasn't working. Whether you're mad about the trade or happy, it will be interesting, to say the least, to see how this new bunch of guys plays together.

I'm not a big NBA fan, but I like to see the Grizzlies doing well. I thought this was extremely stupid at first. Then someone on ESPN said Gay is set to make $38mil over the next two seasons, and all the sudden it sounded like a good trade to me.

I guess we will see how good of a trade it is in the playoffs.

They played better in the playoffs without Rudy honestly.

At least this Toronto fan gets his wish.

"Wow that was 1 crazy trade today," Oklahoma City center Kendrick Perkins tweeted. "Are you serious Rudy Gay is right there under KD, Lebron, Kobe, and Melo. (hashtag)badtrade."

He's definitely not a moron because he's right..Rudy Gay IS right there with all those guys. We're just better without him because his attitude was a downer and we needed better 3 point shooting. He had that attitude because he is that good and he was the 3rd option on our team. I see him tearing it up in Toronto. I wish him luck...he's been my favorite player for a while now...I saw him hit a game winner over Durant from the 2nd row. lol

Oh lord Gay has to be the most overrated player in the NBA, I can't believe he's rated a top 10 player in NBA2k.

Gay was the 4th best player on Grizzlies and you could make a legitimate argument that even Tony Allen was more valuable.

As a Rockets fan, I wouldn't even trade Chandler Parsons for Gay.

On paper it might not seem like it, but the Grizzlies were big winners in this trade.

Just so y'all don't accuse me of hating, here's why Gay is one of the most overrated players in the league:

    - 17 points a game on 16 shots in almost 37 minutes a game is nothing to rave about.

    - Takes a lot of bad shots and makes poor decisions with the ball.

    - Tries to be Kobe too much.

    - Does nothing on defense, which is highly disappointing given his size, length and athleticism.

    - A good player, but not even all star talent, getting paid superstar money.

There's a reason why Memphis has been wanting to trade Gay for a while instead of Gasol, old fart Zbo or the rarely talked about, Mike Conley. A lottery pick, 25 year old "superstar" doesn't get dumped like that. They knew what they were doing.

I've always been a big fan of Rudy, but 2 years ago we proved we didn't need him. He's been hurting us this year. Excited to see how we play tonight @okc
