Why are you people talking about the Rams signing Williams? They just fired him!

he Is suspended indefinitely firing him is the logical choice when you have no idea when he will be able to work( I'm pretty sure Williams expected to be fired at some point during the suspension). It's not like they fired him for poor performance or even didn't want him as a D coordinator.
Now that the league has given him clearance to seek employment leads people to believe his reinstatement is close at hand. If you are Fisher and the Rams why not try and re-hire him, after all he was your "guy" before he was suspended.

More that I think about it the Titans job is a better one for him. He will basically be half a head coach if he comes here. Plus, if Munch is gassed during the season Williams will probably end up as HC. Neither of those things are going to happen in St. Louis.

I would not be surprised if Fisher has contacted Williams for the job.

At least by signing Ryan and switching to a 3-4 would suggest that we are open to change instead of the same old same old tampa cover 2 defense from the 4-3 base set.

Honestly when the 3-4 first started getting popular in the NFL I didnt think it would work, but now its apparent that most teams are making the switch. A 4-3 only works when you have 4 dominant defensive lineman.

Also with the talent we have a LB's we could easily make that transistion. Ayers would be a good 3-4 guy as would brown.

I mainly prefer the 3-4 right now because of Ayers and Brown. And also because we don't have 4 good DL guys.

If it was up to me I'd be sending those 2 on blitzes 90% of the time.

Also wimbley was better out of a 3-4 set too. We have the personel to make the change right now. The problem is, we dont have the guts or coaching ability to do so.

Also a 4-3 is designed to funnell plays to the MLB making MLB possibly the most important position. In a 4-3 you are going to have a harder time without a strong MLB. Which we do not have.

McCarthy has the talent to be one of the best MLB's, I just wish he could stay healthy. When he's in we're actually a good team.
