I still haven't got around to watching Game of Thrones. I'm hesitant to take on yet another show, but I've heard nothing but good things. Homeland is my favorite drama currently running though. I'll be extremely surprised if I end up liking Thrones more than it.

To me, it really didn't start getting  until the second season. But IMO the second season was much more exciting than the first. So there's a tradeoff there.

I'll say the same thing about Homeland as I did earlier in the thread about Dexter, if a show is good enough... I can overlook some unrealistic scenarios. TBH though, Dexter is bordering on outright ridiculousness lately. I've just given up on that being a realistic world at this point.

But with Homeland I've never really found myself "taken out of" the show because something was so ridiculous. And that's what counts to me.

I have always been a big 24 fan even though I recognize that 90% of the acting is horrible. The acting in Homeland is awesome, and it revolves around one main theme unlike 24.

If you didn't like the first season of 24, you would likely hate the rest of the show.

I don't like the fantasy genre, so that's probably why... I hate Lord of the Rings.

    Well that makes sense then.

I think the acting in Homeland is pretty great it's just the plot holes that I have a problem with. And again, I don't give Homeland as much leniency (as maybe I should) because it is more set in real world, real life setting. But obviously it's just a tv show and sometimes I shouldn't overthink it but then I can't help myself with a show with that premise.
