Experts Early Titans '13 Draft Pick

    Just an early look at 3 specific draft options and some analysis on them.

    In Mel Kipers Mock Version 1.0 he has several options for the Titans to select @ 10.

    Guard - Alabama "The Tide' Guard Chance Warmack. Many grade him out as the "best" run blocking guard in the entire draft.

    Warmack would be one of my top choices if I was in the FO. Anytime you hear a term for a big nasty o-liner like "ROAD GRADER" than I would say go for it. When's the last time the Titans had a nasty interior "road grader"? Coached under one of the best college coaches Nick Saban at the Tide - Warmack will go into the draft as one of the top interior linemen off the board who could be a staple for a franchise for the next decade +.


    Guard - UNC Tarheel Jonathan Cooper. Graded out as a top 3 interior linemen in the 2013 Draft.

    Cooper is not as big as Warmack and I have seen several different theories on him possibly moving to center. He won't be a road grader like Warmack above, but Cooper is intriguing considering the Titans need help at both guard and center positions. Cooper could be flexible and could possibly mold him in both guard and center positions.

    CB - Bama "The Tide" DeMarcus "Dee" Milliner. Graded out as one of the top corners to be taken off the board.

    I have been hoping the Titans take a top corner for the last several years in the first round. Prince Amukamara was the guy I was hoping for a few years back. This year DeMarcus Milliner would fill a need if the Titans decide to shore up that inconsistent secondary.


    Other Possible Options for the Titans @ 10.

    If the Titans waited on the secondary and o-line - they could address the other side of the line with some DT's.

    DT Missouri - Sheldon Richardson
    DT Ohio State - Jonathan Hankins

    Yeah still very early depends on that combine - I have seen some mocks with Milliner falling just past us to the Rams. Milliner / Finnegan not too bad. But I don't see how Munch passes on a linemen this year. Either OL or DL with that first pick. Corner/Safety may have to be addressed in rounds 2-3.

    I don't know why we are even discussing this with this front office and coaching staff this is the way the draft will play out :
    1) The Titans trade up in the draft into the top 5, giving up their 1st (#10) and 3rd(#whatever)and 1st & 2nd round next year for the 5th pick this year.
    2)The Titans then use said #5 pick and draft Jake Matthews .Then in the remaining rounds a slew of junior college fullbacks to become defensive lineman and man servants.
    3)Jake instantly becomes the backup on the scout team ..due to another injury plagued season the Matthews brothers are forced into starting ...along side their father ,Bruce ,who has come out of retirement to form the Nfl's only father son trio of offensive linemen in history..
    MEANWHILE.. The Browns who benefited from all our draft picks obtained in the trade.. become the first team to hoist the Lombardi trophy 3 consecutive years.
