Fluker is maybe the 3rd to 6th best OT prospect in the draft. That is because he is seen as a RT only and not an elite pass blocker. But what about Fluker as a right guard? He's huge, 6'6 335. A devastating run blocker and certainly adequate as a pass blocker for that position.

Looking at him as a guard prospect he would be the 2nd to 4th best guard in the whole draft. A comparable guard prospect to Warford. Better in my opinion than Jones, Bailey or Cooper because he is bigger and stronger than they are. In fact the only OG with comparable or better run grade would be Warmack.

Drafting Fluker at 39 would give us the versatility of moving him to RT when the need arises. If Stewart is hurt or when his contract runs out.

I doubt if he is still around at 39 but if he is wouldn't we have to consider him?

FYI the difference between Fluker and Warmack is that while Warmack loved to push guys around Fluker wanted to lay guys out. He is a mean player! Not dirty but mean and tough and he is an emotional leader.

Has he ever played guard before?

If he hasn't I would not say it would be a deal breaker. I know lots of people here talk about moving Stewart to guard next season also, so if that happened I could see us taking him.

I am hesitant to talk about these positional changes though. I don't see Munch or even Bruce to make many positional changes on the line.

Not a big change really. You run a little more and have to lead sweeps and screens but a lot of OT prospects end up at OG anyway and do quite well.

I think playing alongside Stewart would be a big help and they would have similar attitudes.

Well the guy is gigantic for sure, and looks like he would be a great player at the next level. I was onboard for going OL in the first and second round, and two Bama players would make me feel real good considering how they steamrolled every team they played.

Interesting scouting report from nfl draft scout.

Fluker is NFLDraftScout.com's No. 4 offensive tackle and a borderline first-round pick. He started all 14 games this past season, leaving Alabama with 36 career starts at right tackle under his belt. At 6-6 and 335 pounds, Fluker has the mammoth frame and length to engulf rushers and be a mauler as a run blocker. He plays tight in space and can have trouble against speed rushers, causing some to think he's better suited at guard. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

As far as his handling speed rusher on the outside as a Rt he had lots of trouble with Jarvis Jones but handled Mingo very well. He bullied Jones on run plays though.

I don't think i'm going out on a limb by saying that he is an upgrade at RG to Harris.

Could we get him with our 2nd and potentially move Stewart to RG instead? I doubt he falls to the 2nd with Matthews returning and the need for OL.

I love the idea but only way we go Fluker in the 2nd is if we go someone other than an OL in the 1st.
