Completely agree, and I think it's time that everyone hoping for Teo or a SS or some other position accepts this.

And, really, we should be thrilled when the Titans draft Warmack. People are already saying that he might grade out as the best player in the draft, but he should fall a bit because no one ever takes OGs in the top 10.

A top lineman will make it so all of our skill positions stand a chance to matter.

Munchak, Matthews, and Reinfeldt did last year.

and I think it is a big reason Reinfeldt is gone.

    Did they?

I mean they did try to convince a handful of pro Bowl linemen to come to TN.

They failed at that, but they tried.

To me that says they knew it was going to be an issue.

Uh huh- not buying it. They passed on OL in last year's draft. No question Munchak/Matthews had a hand in that as well as the Amano extension months prior. It was a COLOSSAL fail and over-estimation of their coaching abilities.

Their over-estimation of their OL coaching ability and the personnel we had cost this franchise dearly. CJ had chitty holes and Locker was put on his azz immediately. Locker was eventually out for the season because of the lack of the OL.

And don't for one minute buy into the party line that we couldn't land some OL because Bud wanted Manning. Folks weren't lined up before that chit-storm and they weren't landed. There was PLENTY of ability to land some OL and Manning. Hell- the lack of the OL might have been the real reason Peyton didn't choose the Titans- who knows?

Nope- Munchak and Matthews made this bed and now they have to lie in it. They had just better hope they can get the OL up to a point where our running game gets back on track. Because we can't expect Locker to come out guns blazin' lighting the world on fire with the time he has missed and the extent of surgery that was required to fix his shoulder. Munchak better hope his recovery is on or ahead of schedule because both of their futures are pinned together.

I guess you got me there, they did pass on several top linemen in the draft, but to be fair, we're nowhere near good enough to be able to draft by need. We need to collect as many good players as we can (not defending Webster and Munch BTW)

Amano wasn't extended months ago, that was nearly 3 years ago.

Honestly, the Titans will probably skip on Warmack because "you don't take OGs in the top 10". Instead we'll take someone like Johnathan Hankins.. a few picks later #13-#15 range Warmack will get drafted. Our pick will end up an average player and Warmack will be an elite guard for years. Book it.

Your right. I guess his extension is like a wound that will never heal- you forget how long you've had it.

We took Amano towards the bottom of the 7th round. I beleive it was the same year we drafted Jacob Bell.
