The following list (in no particular order) are the names of the non elite QB's who started this year. I've listed every single QB I know of with an NFL start in 2012, but left out the Manning's and Brady's, Brees' and other already established greats. If they have a Super Bowl win they're off this list.

    Robert Griffin
    Russell Wilson
    Matt Ryan
    Matt Schaub
    Tony Romo
    Philip Rivers
    Joe Flacco
    Andy Dalton
    Collin Kaepernick
    Alex Smith
    Cam Newton
    Carson Palmer
    Ryan Fitzpatrick
    Sam Bradford
    Josh Freeman
    Jay Cutler
    Christian Ponder
    Matthew Stafford
    Nick Foles
    Michael Vick
    Blaine Gabbert
    Andrew Luck
    Ryan Tannehill
    Jake Locker
    Brandon Weeden
    Chad Henne
    Mark Sanchez
    Matt Cassel
    Matt Hasselbeck
    Kevin Kolb
    Kirk Cousins
    Jason Campbell
    Terrelle Pryor
    Greg McElroy
    Brady Quinn
    John Skelton
    Byron Leftwich
    Charlie Batch

Can't be bothered to take the time to rank all those guys so I'll just do a top 5.

    1. Matt Ryan
    2. Philip Rivers
    3. Andrew Luck
    4. RG3
    5. Russell Wilson

It kills me to put Philip Rivers on the list as he's such an annoying douche, but he's a good QB. And I honestly probably would've ranked him lower than the rookies based on this year but I only put him at #2 because he's been doing it for so long. These rooks could fizzle out. And it's likely that at least one or two of them will.

Eli Manning is a quandry for me... is he awful or a legend?!?!?

He sucks.. yet he has 2 Super Bowl wins....

I would NOT list him as an elite QB.. cause he simply is not very good or consistent, year in-year out.

And If I had to pick a QB for my team.. many of these "non elite" QBs would be higher on my list.

I'd consider Eli Manning elite, but just barely. He is inconsistent and that's a legitimate beef. But the guy gets it done in the playoffs when it matters.

But I guess it all depends on your definition of elite. I don't think you need Super Bowls or 40+ TDs/year to be elite. I'd probably actually consider Ryan and Rivers elite. But again, on the low end like Eli.

Maybe I'm too liberal with the "elite" label, probably am. I just try to look at everyone's situation (coaching/surrounded talent) individually. E.G. If Rivers played for the Pats would he still be Super Bowl-less? Perhaps. But I doubt it.

    Ill do a bottom five!!

Tony romo (unclutch beyond all belief)
Alex smith (will be absolutely no one outside the 9ers organization)
Micheal Vick (his time is up, goodbye)
Jake locker (cuz really.. Watching him this year gave me very little hope only above...)
The great Blaine Gabbert! (Dude seriously I wanted locker in the draft... I hate being wrong)

According to Michael Smith Alex Smith is the best QB in football. He claims Alex Smith has the highest QBR is all the league.
