Football players are not role models, but millions of fans still look up to these guys as if they are.

I've taught my kids right from wrong, and good vs evil, and they know better. But lots of kids think because they see it on TV that it's ok. Hell, even a lot of dumb adults act out what they see in the news.

I'm the kind of person who thinks exposure is good. Now obviously I don't want my 7 year old daughter watching Jerry Springer or Cinemax at 12 a.m., but I think it's important to give your kids a dose of reality with a balanced diet of the real world stuff (not the TV show).

The latest headlines Titans fans are racking their brains over involve Kenny Britt (again). At a first glance it seems clear he's no role model, but as I was sitting on the toilet reading the news about Kenny, I thought back to my run-ins with the law, and who am I to judge Kenny.

Kenny is 24, by the time I was 24 I had been arrested twice, and had 9 or so encounters with police, and I view myself as a good person. I give money to the less fortunate, and donate to charities. I help anyone who asks, but from the outside looking in, someone might say my 2 arrests, and other dealings with police make me look like a bad guy.

I once got 3 speeding tickets doing over 100MPH in 8 days (1 arrest). During the year and a half it took me to get myself out of all that I had a wake up call. I realized it's too expensive driving fast, and that I was lucky myself or no one else was hurt by my recklessness. I also realized hanging out in court houses all around the state once a week every week for what seemed like forever was not what I wanted to be about. I mean I thought at the time I was a good driver (still do) and the cops were being jerks about life, but I later learned it wasn't about me. I was in trouble because of those around me (innocence motorists/innocent bystanders), so I decided to change my ways.

Lucky for me and Kenny Britt we both have the resources to get ourselves out of bad situations, but at some point you run out of chances. For me I was simply sick and tired of being around district attorneys and out of shape driving instructors. I wanted people to stop worrying about me and if I was going to go to jail for what most people think is harmless. I was only driving fast and racing from cops. Kind of similar how Kenny Britt is feeling. All he does is kick it with his friends from home, whats so bad about that? If your kid is looking up to Kenny Britt, you as a parent need to rethink some things.

But here is where I say bye to Kenny, and not because he drove a guy bleeding to the hospital, but because he'd rather be in a New Jersey police station at the end of the day than in a gym somewhere or on a track bettering himself for Sundays. Let's be real here, 99% of us only care about Kenny Britt because he's a Titans player. So 99% of us shouldn't care how he is off the field, but in todays NFL it's one in the same. Roger Goodell makes it hard on guys who don't make the NFL appear pristine. Kenny is running out of days to be an NFL star. When he finds himself suspended the Titans won't be able to do anything with him, if he can't help the team then why is he here?

Some fans are like it's ok to go have fun when you're young, well yea that is true, even old folks need to have fun, but having the police looking for you is not fun, and thats who Kenny Britt has become.

Chris Johnson once said athletes want what actors and musicians have, and vice verse. Does Kenny Britt prefer that thug life over NFL life? Sure seems like it. The reason I no longer have legal issues is because I got away from what was bringing me those legal issues, my close friends. I didn't dump them and change who I was, I just grew up and decided money over fast cars. I decided to live a worry free life and have a 9-5, be a dad at night, and read bed time stories and watch Finding Nemo 86 times.

Being a likeable guy doesn't make you a better player, or get your team more wins, but being accountable does, and since Kenny Britt isn't accountable or can't stay healthy, I don't want him holding a roster spot on this team anymore.

He'll always be this guy he is, our best bet is moving on from him, and finding a player who appreciates this chance in life. Not everyone gets to make millions playing football.

I say since we can't trade the dumb ass, we keep him for the time being. He wont grow up, but he does us no good if we cut him now. We should sign a free agent WR who can take over his role, and wait for that guy to become our No.1 WR then later cut Kenny. I don't want him catching on somewhere else and tearing it up, let's hold him hostage til September then say peace out. That'll teach him. He needs to learn before he's broke or dead. Seriously.

And for anyone wondering, I'm not even mad with Kenny, I don't know him so it's nothing personal, I'm just ready for a professional to take over his role so this team can stop wasting time on a juvenile player and maybe win some games.

You'd think after the 8591285 issues Kennys had with the police he'd figure it out... NEWSFLASH: He hasn't. The dude is clueless. He gets paid a ton of money to play football, but he can't figure out that NJ is bad news. You can have fun without getting the police invovled.

It's been real Kenny, but your time in Tennessee is nearly done.

Haven't we learned? Hopefully we have. When you get an apple that starts stinking early, get rid of it before it spoils the barrel.

I hope we don't see much more of this guy. Wish him the best........somewhere else.

And yes, I wanted Punkman gone too while he was still playing well.

It's funny if you put CJ and Britt side by side and asked 100 random people which guy has been arrested 0 times and which has been arrested like every few months, they'd all point to CJ just because of the way he looks and talks.

The friend thing is so true though. Britt isn't a bad guy I'm pretty sure, he just has a lot of thug friends and he's too much of an idiot to move on from them.

Hanging with the wrong crowd will get you, especially when you're too stupid to move on. Britt has money and an entire organzation that will do anything for him. Go hang out with your teammates.

I almost said this exact same thing last night in the other 'KB is a moron' thread. And it just goes to show it's not a black vs. white thing. And it's not a 'hood life' vs. 'suburban life' thing. It's about being an idiot vs. not being idiot. It's about realizing how insanely lucky you got in life and making the most of that opportunity vs. thinking you're the Teflon Don version 2.0.

I'd wager the majority of NFL players these days grew up in poor areas running with rough crowds. So why is it just guys like Kenny Britt and Rolando McClain who are constantly popping up on the police blotter?

    HINT:
    They're complete morons.

If your only issue is driving fast, I think that is kind of different.
