Dude McCourty gets beat more than anyone on our team besides babs. I mean its ridiculous how soft of coverage he plays. He's an ok tackler but the dude cant play man to save his life or break on a ball!

You're saying he can't break on balls yet ever since him and Verner have been together on the Titans it's been McCourty with more deflections and more interceptions, so what are you saying again???

And as far as tackling goes McCourty is as good a tackler as any CB can be. His zone skills are about as good as a zone player can be too, and in man to man he's not the best of the best, but he's more than sufficient. Only the really elite WR's make him look average. And IMO there's only

As a huge Jason McCourty fan I know how he plays, and I find it funny you want to call him out after last weeks game, because the guy your saying is better got beat repeatedly last week.

Yup. He's a rookie, it happens. Thing is.... I don't see Locker make the same good throws Luck makes. Luck has 4,000 yards, 6 4th quarter comebacks and a playoff berth. Locker sucks.

When is the last time Andrew Luck finished a game with over a 50% completion rate?

Probably the last time he threw over 50% of his throws 5 yards or less.

Here's the thing. He wins games. Locker loses them. That's all that matters. He's a rookie that throws 40+ passes a game. If you can't see that he's got the make up of being a great QB, yet you sit and defend Locker, then I have to question your football IQ.

And his completion percentage for the season is 55%. So obviously he's completed over 50% plenty of times. He also has 4200 yards and 21 TD. When he cuts back the INT and beefs up the efficiency he'll be a perennial pro bowler.

I so want Locker to improve and become our franchise QB, but he has not shown me the improvement and consistency that I was hoping for. What gets me the most is when he does have time and has a relative easy throw how often he is off target. If you can't be consistently good on the easy throws then it really makes it tough on the offense to consistently move the ball.

I'm not ready to toss Jake aside just yet, but I really couldn't blame a new coach or GM from coming in and saying he is going a different direction.

I remember being ridiculed when I was one of the few in here saying that Jake Locker wouldn't pan out. I remember the excuses given for Locker's poor Washington games... the receivers, the O-Line, etc. etc. etc. We're still seeing the same excuses from the Locker apologists.

Now look where we are with Jake Locker's last 5 games: 53.4% comp., 4 TDs (at least 2 of those coming against soft 4th quarter prevent defenses), 9 interceptions. What a big surprise... he was inaccurate at Washington and he's inaccurate in the NFL. It's time to stop fooling ourselves that his accuracy issues can be fixed.

The 2013 draft has crap for QBs. Looks like we better sign Alex Smith and end the Jake Locker era. The sooner the better.

I would have no problem making a move for Smith. He has shown great improvement over the past few yrs. The last 4 yrs his completion % has been above 60%. His TD to INT ratio continues to improve. His QB rating has been improving each yr as well.

Not often that you get the chance to grab an experienced young QB. I was pissed that we didn't make a move for Brees when he was available. The 49ers aren't going to part with him for nothing, but they probably don't want to pay their backup 9mil either. I wouldn't mind flipping flopping picks in a few rnds with the 49ers. It would move us back in the 1st which would put us in better position to draft interior OL or safety at a more appropriate draft spot value.
