Now I don't think we are a playoff team but I don't think we're 5-10 either. I say we are 8-7 or 7-8 right now if PM comes here.

Either way, PM made the right choice in signing with Denver.

    10-6 and a wildcard.

Because of offense efficiency, the defense looks much better statistically.

I just don't see 5 extra wins. I can see 3 at best.

Both Indy games and the Jax game.maybe the second Texans game and if that's te case that puts us at 9-6 going into Jax with a chance to go 10-6.

Yup. Or maybe the San Diego or Minny game goes completely differently.

I think the team is entirely different with Manning playing. I really think he would have that much effect on the teammates around him.

And like I was saying, there is reason to believe the defense would be a lot better due to offense efficiency. And I don't just mean look better, but play better. They would be better rested (for one thing) thanks to sustained offensive drives.

I think we would have started out better and been 9-7. Peyton would have overcome Palmer, Loggains and Munch's coaching and done his own thing. People make a big deal out of Tom Moore but I have yet to see what were paying him for. Peyton was that teams HC,OC and QB all rolled into one, it showed the second he wasn't playing anymore.

That said, the one thing I don't think he could overcome is our garbage oline. They weren't good to begin with and with this rag tag bunch we currently have I see us being in the same situation, even with Peyton.

Peyton's the type of QB that doesn't need quality at coaching to get it done, he does it on his own and that's one of the reasons he will be a first ballot HOFer. I still maintain however, I wouldn't want him on my team in the playoffs. Guy always found a way to lose.

10-6 and even possibly AFC South champions.

Definitely would've beaten the Colts both times, the Jags, and the Texans here, at least... if not in Houston as well. Had we won in Houston as well, we'd be AFC South champs - not that that's very impressive. I **** you not, we probably would've beaten the Bears too.

It's too hard to judge and make assumptions outside the divisional games since those were the closest scores. But our offense had a lot more to do with teams scoring 30+ every game than our defense did. With Peyton, everything changes.

    Another interesting question...

What would our record be if Locker and the entire O-line had stayed healthy all year? Certainly better than what it is now, right?

are you guys really that dense?

He made a 2-14 Indy team 13-3...We'd be a completely different team with Manning. 3 wins better at best? That's rich.

    11-5 at worst

In theory, everything would benefit from him, pass (obviously), run, line play, defense, etc... An accurate and experienced QB who knows when to audible and hot route really controls a game. Rodge did it quite a bit the other day and carved up the team (even though we actually played well on D early on, or at least much better then I thought we would).

On the flip side, Dever's D is really, really good - we saw that last year with Tebow at the helm - and till now remain consistent. They covered Tim's poor play almost as good as any unit could have. PM made a smart choice going there as he isn't playing from behind a lot and, ohh yeah, their o-line is pretty darn good too. We don't have all that here, so its actually really hard to predict such.

Still remains to be seen though, the dude ALWAYS owns in the regular season, but come play-off time its been a different story. That one year Indy won it, he was playing incredible yes, but their D was actually good too. In Denver, he's got that again, so I'm interested to see how it plays out...

History tells us it could easily be either a 'first-round-post-bye loss' or a '(half)year long celebration in Denver'

LOL at all the fans who bitched we went after Manning all offseason. We'll be fine with Jake they said! 11-5 with Manning.
