I mean he was our OC once, and then they hired Palmer a few months later. I'm just concerned, but hopeful he knows what he's doing.

Yeah well, maybe they will look for another OC at the end of this year too.

Although last time he was working with KFC/VY/Smith and under the oppressive rule of Jeff Fisher, so maybe they thought he should get another shot.

Yeah, back in the UFL, as a QB coach, for the worst team.

I think we fired Palmer a few weeks too late. No doubt this was Bud's doing, I don't think that Munchak would have fired him on his own. Bud definitely had to have stepped in and demanded it.

I'm ok with keeping Gray on for the rest of the year until a better DC becomes available. Palmer should have been fired well before the bye week.

No qb comes in and is successful right away. Except RG3, Andrew Luck, Russel Wilson, Andy Dalton, etc. Good point old man.

As long as Dowell doesn't run any more of those F'n WR screen passes then it will be an upgrade. We have tried that play in about every game this year, and last week was the first time I have ever seen it work for us, and even then it only worked once. Every other time was just a wasted play.

Even amid all the dumb calls by the refs, I still blame Palmer for losing the Colts game. We were moving the ball down the field at will on the Colts, get into the redzone and what does Palmer call? WR screen to the right ... no gain, run up the middle ... no gain so it brings up 3rd and long, so Palmer thinks it is a good idea to run the same screen that went for zero yards just to the opposite side of the field. And what do you know ... we get 0 yards!!! Settle for a FG ... what a maroon.

Well boo effing hoo. If you suck at your job you don't deserve a paycheck. I love how this clown couldn't take it gracefully and had to come up with every excuse in the book.

Exactly. Those teams allow the QB to be successful. They put them in position to be successful. Palmer on the other hand prefers to let his QB throw his first pass on every drive on 3rd down when the D KNOWS that we have to pass. Forget about giving the QB some easy passes on 1st/2nd down to get him settled and into a rhythm.

But, in Palmers defense .... The WRs for both Luck and RGIII routinely bail their QBs out with some great catches on otherwise poorly thrown passes. Locker on the other hand threw some beautiful passes that were flat out dropped or the receiver just screwed up on.

Putting locker in a more traditional route running offense might speed up his development from the wild thinking process we have now (or maybe had)

I hated to see three and five step drops with no quick outlet. I'd much rather see some west coast offense implemented. Quick routes. Easy reads. Check deep, throw short. I swear 90 percent of the time we ran 4/5 verts it seemed.
