Said this in another post. I like McCarthy but due to his durability concerns and lack of quality play this year I would absolutely take Te'o. He can change the culture of this team and we would start heading into the right direction. I would feel much better having him than some DE that falls to us.

If Jarvis Jones is there, I'd rather have him. We'd need to switch to 3-4 however, but I think Jarvis can be a huge difference maker. But then we'd have Ayers & Wimbley also at OLB, and I think Wimbley would be the guy out.

    I also like Star.

If Te'o is gone and Jones is there we could still move Ayers to DE and let Jones take his spot at OLB.

he may be the best player on Notre Dame's team, but I don't think an overhyped linebacker should be our target in the 1st round...hell, last year we had a shot at Lavonte David out of Nebraska, and we passed on him for Zach Brown.....

As a Nebraska fan, I can tell you that was an awful choice to pass on David, because dude was one hell of a linebacker and playmaker. Tampa Bay got a really good one. I just don't know about Te'o, maybe because I haven't watched many ND games but he doesn't have that "it" that really makes him stand out, other than the ESPN hype machine behind him.

how is he overhyped? I haven't seen this great of a LB prospect since Willis and I was a huge Willis fan.

Oooooooh he makes alot of assisted tackles! And picks against bad teams and bad qbs (Dennard Robinson and Landry effing Jones)! Ya'll should try not to pay attention to ESPN so much. I'd rather have a big and fast LB out of the SEC anyday. Jarvis Jones all day.

    1. Zach Brown was the better pick and he's proved it so far. I'm not sure what David has done this season but Brown is doing a lot better than most thought.

    2. Watch the games and maybe you'll see what everyone sees instead of just saying it's all ESPN hype. Jarvis Jones is a great pass rusher but lacks in coverage and he's also a 3-4 LB, not a 4-3. So unless we change systems he's not a great fit but if he's there I would still take him. We can just shift Ayers down to DE. Jones has the pass rush and the speed but other than that Te'o is better from what I've seen so far.
