No really Big East. Please go away, rest in pease, and do not come back. As far as football anyway. It looks like Rutgers is going to join Maryland in moving to the Big 10. You are now left with a bizzare assortment of teams scattered around the country that were part of Conference USA, MAC or 1-AA recently.

So now you are left with schools like Louisville, who will probably be next out the door, Cincinnatti (former coach Brian Kelly said Central Michigan had far better facilities than Cincinnatti). You brought back Temple. It was not that long ago you kicked Temple out of your conference for football because their program was so bad. You picked up Houston who will bolt to the Big 12 at the first chance. Much like TCU did. And you have SMU. Just because the school is in a big state like Texas does not mean people there are going to start watching Big East football. You honestly think they are going to watch Big East football over Big 12 and SEC football? You will be lucky to match the ratings Lone Star Conference games get.

Your future plan seems to be to have teams scatter as many places as possible. Boise State, San Diego State to go along with the teams you have in the North East and Florida. How are you going to develop rivalries? You think fans are going to travel from Conneticuit to San Diego to watch their Huskies play the Aztecs? Or how about Florida to Boise. Which is a 6 hour flight. Of course, no commercial airline does it direct. And Boise may be popular now but what happens if they slip. They start losing more than 1 game a year and interest in the Broncos will drop by about 98%. What happens if they end up on probation and start to suck? They have had issues with NCAA rules. You think all those teams are going to want to drag themselves up to Boise, Idaho and play against a crap team no one cares about on blue turf?

Well have fun. San Diego is one of the most beautiful cities I have been in. Be sure to plan a lot of travel time. It also has the worst air port out of all major cities in North America. Has one runway which it shares with the naval base.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego... which, of course, in German means "a whale's vagina."

Big East is going to be Dissolved soon. It was created as a basketball conference and you that was its biggest mistake. Football programs make all the money for athletic programs and it doesnt make sense to focus on basketball.

Boise is going to Pac 12 ultimately. They may stay in MWC tho for now. Boise travels as good as anyone in the country and they will pay the fee to jump conferences again.

Louisville wants to join ACC and takes maryland's spot. It makes sense for them. It may be enough to keep charlie strong as coach and games like Florida State vs Louisville in football and Va Tech/Clemson vs. Lou would be premier games that would fill up the stadium and be broadcast on ESPN. Think about basketball... Louisville vs. Duke and UNC in basketball only brings more people into their brand new downtown basketball arena (that is suffering financially.. but thats another story)
