Owner Bud Adams puts "grossly out coached and outplayed" Titans on notice.

A vet coach like Gruden or Cowher might deny a job here but a OC or DC won't do it for their first gig.

Is Bud not 100% justified in saying this? I think if he had a quality organization that was actually winning games you wouldn't hear a peep out of him and the coach wouldn't have to worry about meddling. The only player who's jock he's rode since VY was Manning and we couldn't land him.

 

NFL head coaching jobs are not that plentiful, an eager coordinator would certainly want his own chance and come here. Someone with more board time start a thread of legitimate candidates for next year.

 

So thats 3 instances in 6 years, and 2 of the three were the right thing to do. Bud only butts in when he has to. When the FO and coaches are sitting on their hands doing nothing. He probably has less to do with this team than most owners. It's just that when he does have something to say he makes it known publicly. Fisher had his way with this team for like 15 years. That is exactly what a high profile coach wants.

 

I fully agree. A good OC would have A LOT of fun with Locker, CJ, Britt, Nate, Wright & Cook. And a good DC would do the same with Morgan, Wimbley, Ayers, Mccarthy, Brown, J-Mac & Verner. Heck, even guys like Casey, Klug, Martin & Griffin could improve under a new DC.

As for this topic, heck, at least Bud said something. This was unacceptable and the owner should feel that way.

I can agree with that.

But I think the whole Fisher vs Young thing scared of some people who may have been interested in the job. It was bad publicity for us and everyone concerned.

 

I think at the very least we know that Bud will make changes if there isn't fairly dramatic improvement. So, for everyone saying that Munch is safe for another year will need to rethink that position.
